Scott Parker

All this bloody nonsense about Parker....he took Fulham up to the PL, a medium to large club in the big picture of English Football .
Fulham lasted 1 season in the PL under Parker....EH took a Tinpot club up and lasted 4 Seasons of Safety !
So why the Typical Forum Hype about this guy ?

There's no hype Brian, nobody on here rares him.

Hi all, spoke to mate who works at Fulham. The move has hit a snag as Bournemouth can’t currently afford to pay his wages and the full compo. Fulham are still expecting it to go through, but will likely take a few days. Fulham are already in talks with his replacement…. Make of that what you will

And how are we magically going to be able to afford it in a few days time? How stupid are the people doing this deal?

David Wagner was linked with us when JT was sacked.

WEST BROM, WAGNER TALKS END

Talks between West Brom and David Wagner have ended and Wagner will not be the next head coach at the Hawthorns.

Sky Sports News understands West Brom were always aware Wagner had other options for his next job and after lengthy discussions, it now looks likely the German will instead become the next manager of Young Boys in Switzerland - and that should be confirmed before the weekend.

Whilst West Brom were impressed with Wagner, they wanted to be sure he had the appetite for a promotion battle in the Championship, but it became increasingly clear he was keen at this stage of his career to remain close to his family in Germany.

Albion are now back to the drawing board in their search for a replacement for Sam Allardyce.

Don’t get me wrong, I think our board are incompetent, however I just don’t believe that they weren’t already aware of Parker’s wages and what he would want. All sounds fishy to me.

Yes,
I

I think it’s more that they want to negotiate it down

yes and could be something like less up front but more incentives around if we get promoted.

plus fulham are now going be in direct competition with serious promotion aspirations like us, so they aren't going to give him away. negotiators on both sides probably really earning their wages over this deal.

70k a week HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I can tell you right now, if that figure is true, SP will be your manager next season unless you sack him. Why the f**k we are even negotiating when that is the quoted figure is frankly beyond comprehension
lol imagine paying someone 70k and only watching 9 goals at home all season!!.........they should be begging us to take him.......if we didn't have such a bunch of gullible idiots in charge they wouldn't even think about compo.......they would most likely have sacked him anyway.

You joke, but the reason fulham haven’t sacked him is because our tight board don’t want to sack him, knowing there is interest in him from elsewhere….

70k pw is near what Howe was on in the PL, on which he took a pay cut for the pandemic and would have had to take a cut upon relegation had he stayed.

Can't see us / Demin being able to afford or willing to pay that in our current position.

Maybe if we shifted some serious change off the players wage bill (e.g. Begovic + Lerma + Danjuma) and we thought the manager would wave a magic wand with only lesser paid players. But I can't see it.

Big game of poker.

Be ironic if Fulham price out the chances of a new manager as they want too much compensation when they want a new manager instead - or do you think they want to keep Parker at Fulham?
