He hasn’t really answered the question though has he, he’s just led to a lot of speculation - hence you starting a thread on it. If he’d put ‘left behind, I’m injured’ no issue is there.
 
Apparently he has also removed anything to do with the club on his Twitter profile…. Those who have a hard on for Cookie might need to start bracing yourselves

He has just stated a fact, nothing more, nothing less. If he has been left behind why should he have to pretend otherwise if questioned about it? If he’d have said, ‘left behind because that pr**k Parker wants me out,’ then that would have been unprofessional.

But he knows his response will lead to endless speculation so it’s pointless on his behalf isn’t it.

If Parker wants him out I have no doubt he would still be in Spain until a suitable bid came in. We’ve lost CCV and Mepham isn’t back yet so there has to be a very good reason such as an injury as to why we’ve left our senior CB and captain at home.

I agree. I think with his reply he was just being a bit cheeky.
Perhaps he is staying home for personal reasons and doesn't think it is something he needs to tell the world about on Twitter ?
I'm not reading too much into it personally.

You have no doubt that he’d still be in Spain even if the intention was for him to be leaving the club? Then why no Danjuma or Begovic either, the two players most heavily linked with moves. And why no Callum Wilson to Portugal last season? If we are taking players even if they are not wanted/due to depart then are we to assume that all of the above are/were injured? You don’t have to be a detective here to read between the lines…
 
Refuse to read anything into this... Yes it could mean something... but just as likely it doesn't mean anything...

As for removing things from his online account, maybe he just wants a normal account and wants to distance himself from being an ex PL football player...? I dunno, but there could be lots of reasons for this... the most simple one being he's got a knock...??
 
Yep, I get that, but I'm just trying to say for every speculative answer, there is a logical answer... and yes that could be what you're implying... but we just don't know yet...

I just don't see that Parker would leave Cook behind on the back of being here 1 week... He surely can't be doing this from historical knowledge as Cook is not a bad player...

You can refuse to, that’s your right. And it could be that there is an alternative explanation. But it’s the close season and speculation is natural, and there is a lot of evidence here to suggest that the news will not be good.

Maybe Cook has made it clear he won’t sign a new deal and Blake and Hughes have decided to move him on. I don’t know, I’m just saying that this doesn’t look good. We can’t know for sure but the evidence appears to be pointing in the direction of him departing
