Steve Cook

he runs pretty well for an injured guy. And before anybody responds, “he might be in recovery from an injury.” Then why has Lewis Cook travelled despite the fact he won’t be fully fit for months? Something doesn’t add up here

Lewis Cook was running very well for an injured guy last week.

Could be a reoccurrence of his groin issues and is receiving specialist help over here. I’m certainly not reading anything into it. Pretty normal for players to be left behind for training camps

For him to very bluntly reply “Just left behind”; idk, I think it’s a bit naïve to see that and not immediately think somethings happened lol.

Not a great way for Parker to immediately endear himself to the fans. But then maybe he had legitimate cause, we don’t really know.

I had ten minutes spare, so flicked through the training videos.

Cook features in the gym, same day as the photos. It's after Parker arrives.

He's with Pearson, Billing and Lewis Cook. He however doesn't join them on the training ground for the distance jogs.

He then doesn't feature in the other videos of training on grass.

So my guess is he's just a couple of weeks behind the others in fitness/injury.

Lewis Cook will still be months away from first team action given it was an ACL injury. You can choose not to read anything into it, that is your right. But you can’t deny the evidence is pointing one way. Steve Cooks Twitter bio used to say AFCB captain, that has been removed, there is now no mention of us. I appreciate that people are changing their bio for a variety of reasons but when you couple that with the other evidence, him not travelling and his response as to why he hadn’t travelled. Plus the fact he doesn’t appear to be injured. You can’t deny that it doesn’t look good

He could have very easily just responded to that message by saying, “injured, working way to fitness.” Like over posters have alluded to, unless he’s incredibly stupid/naive he would have known that such a response would create speculation. Why would he want that if all was fine and dandy?

OK then, just for laughs I'll join in.
Maybe Cook is a high earner ( still on a PL contract ) and we have the hots for CCV yet can't afford both. Ergo, the club are going to try to offload Cookie so no point in taking him to Spain.
They'll look a bit daft if he doesn't want to leave and has missed out on learning the new manager's preferred style of play though, so maybe not.....

I agree. I think with his reply he was just being a bit cheeky.
Perhaps he is staying home for personal reasons and doesn't think it is something he needs to tell the world about on Twitter ?
I'm not reading too much into it personally.
Why post anything at all then ?

Force of habit most likely. Everybody I know who does social media can't leave their frigging smartphones alone for more than 30 seconds. I imagine it's quite addictive once you get started with it.
I have the opposite problem. I get complaints because people can't reach me because I keep leaving my phone at home when I'm out and about :p
Come to think of it, I'm not currently sure which room I've left it in today.

No don't accept that........if as you say its personal and he doesn't need to tell the world about, why post something that will be questioned ?
