PEREIRA LEAVES WBA

Matheus Pereira has left West Brom to join Saudi Arabian siide Al Hilal for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old scored 20 goals across two season with the Baggies, initially joining on loan from Sporting Lisbon in 2019.

Yeah, agree. Is great to see the youngsters getting more of a chance and their drive to succeed. I think back to those awful matches in 2019-20: Had the younger players been given a shot then, I honestly don't think they would have done much worse... quite possibly better because of having more enthusiasm. Feel like we're on a journey with this team and hopefully, it won'the be too long until we're where we want to be but in the mean time, we can enjoy the good scenery along the way:)

That's a strange one. Must be paying him A LOT!!!

A back 5 of Travers - Smith - Mepham - Kelly - Zemura (if Stacey not fit).

Looking forward to seeing the tactical side of this evening as opposed to the 11 players on the pitch since I imagine the team in 2 months time will be very different

West Brom SHOULD win this one. They have the strength in squad to pose us too many issues and I expect us to go down to a 2 or 3 goal defeat. BUT.....If we somehow go out there and perform and get a draw or even a win, it will be a massive marker for this season. With so many young players, lets hope there is more hunger than we started last season with.

Lol, I think that's over the top... the bookmakers have us down as favourites.

Tough one to call, any outcome wouldnt surprise me, but we re not going into the game as outsiders... assuming we're not starting with several of the youth players.

I won't do it, but this is one of the few games I would be tempted to bet against us on with West Brom at 2/1!

Instead I have bet on us as usual!

I think we have to be? I dont see how its over the top to see they are stronger than us?

See I think we have a good few youngsters that perhaps could realise that this season could be their proper chance for first team football.
Some of the youngsters are not that young and you hope they go with the attitude of being part of the first 11 and with hunger inside them to stake a claim .
Excited for this season

Looking at our team, we can’t realistically expect anything other than a convincing defeat to a recently relegated team. Three of our eleven don’t have a single league start between them and we have just one senior player on the bench. Need to be realistic here.

Do you mean pessimistic?
