Jordan Zemura

I’ve answered that earlier… Eddie was watching him and we have for awhile, Leeds fans when he played, tough side to get a game in recently but he broke through from the u23s, even trusted to come on at half time when they drew with Man C and played brilliantly.

Im not saying he is Andy Robertson, just saying he would be worth a look ahead of Mepham against a team near the bottom that hadn’t won away all season. Had he messed it up we could’ve brought Mepham on.

as I said, there's only one person's opinion that counts and that is based on his attitude and performance in training, notwithstanding any apparent sickness bug

if he doesn't get a look-in today he may as well be in the next bus back to leeds
[I have no opinion on his ability as I've never seen him play, not even a cameo performance some time ago]

You didn’t miss much in either cameo. He was well out of position, he did look very rapid though and had a good tackle. When I was at school that was enough to get you in any side if you were willing to play full back

Obviously they all make errors but in the majority of cases when they play someone out of position it's because there are no other suitable options.
Unless they think it’s the best option, with some reason in terms of previous success, and then reappraise this after a poorer performance of course.

Who would you have dropped to play Anthony? Danjuma? Anthony's looked decent this season but he's not within touching distance of Danjuma. Would've loved to have seen Zemura overlapping Danjuma, would've created so much space for him to exploit.

Anthony is the perfect foil for JZ. Danjuma wouldn’t have covered for JZ’s attacking runs

Erm… not sure I get the question you are asking! I don’t know is the answer. Part of me thinks that he wasn’t ill, he was sat in the stand with all the players not playing with a sickness bug? That doesn’t add up to me plus he hasn’t made a match day squad in ages. You’d normally have a full back on the bench and if Zemura had come off early v Reading might he had been back quicker. So id say Parker maybe thought Mepham was the better option based on previous full back outings where we won.

Part of me also believes maybe he was ill and Parker doesn’t prefer Mepham.

I could go either way. Today won’t even answer the question in my head because the team were that bad on Weds even Stevie Wonder would give Leif or Brady a run out today.

Bet you are glad you asked now:grinning:

Different non-infectious kind of ill maybe. Toothache...

Of the two and Danjuma was obviously further into his first team career than Anthony (so maybe not a totally fair comparison), I think most people would say Danjuma was/is better, but Anthony is more unselfish. Perhaps he needs to be a little more selfish to build up his confidence. He's doing us proud this season, though so I don't want to take any credit away from him.

Must be time for another post about resigning Daniels...

Great photo though, we've had some cracking left backs over the years relative to the level we've been at. Cummings, Vincent, Malone, Wiggins off the top of my head. All did or could have easily played at Champ level when we were a mid table league 1 club.

From what I've read on Davis' attributes in various sources, he's very much a highly rated attack minded full back/wing back. He has the ingredients on paper that indicate he should be at home in our side. So hopefully with a run in the team, he'll give Parker a difficult decision to make when Zemura is available. Saturdays game must have only helped his confidence/belief, so hopefully he'll build on that now.

Given we've now got an international break and none of our defenders are away, it should be a good chance for the back 4 to get a lot of time in on the training ground together and settle Davis in as starting LB, ready for the absence of JZ.

was thinking about the training side. imagine there'll be a lot of focus on him/anthony playing with each other... :D
