Morgan Rogers

We need players on loan who are good enough to lot into starting 11. I don't think either offer that at present.

Will be interesting to see if we take City up on the permanent deal for Rogers. Obviously won't happen if we don't go up.

Rogers has shown precious little that he is Championship standard, let alone PL. I think to develop he needs to find a team in League One, where he would probably shine.

Indeed, certainly won't be PL ready next season. It was more around if Parker had seen enough to think the guy has something special for the future- by most accounts he does, even though he's made zero impact this season.

But even if we went up, 10 mill odd or whatever the suggested fee was, is still a significant outlay for us for a player who won't be ready for at least another season or 2.

He was at Lincoln last season and by all accounts, and a season ticket holder I know, he did very well.

The other part of me, particularly Rogers hasn’t been given a decent chance but of course as you say this could be because Parker doesn’t rate him. I thought Davis had done ok. I’m sure Leeds and Man City will not be happy with the lack of plying time but I’m not sure on the rules of terminating whole season with option to buy loans are.

I don't feel I've seen enough of either in a settled position, in a settled team to judge them fairly. I think Rogers shows fantastic maturity, confidence & ability for his tender years, and I hope his spell here doesnt turn out to be damaging for him.

He got an hour against Peterborough.

I get the argument that its hard to impress with bits and pieces appearances. The problem is, he doesn't seem to contribute anything positive when he comes on. No little flash that makes you think, given a run if he could do that a lot more then he'd be ready to make a difference.

He may well prove to be a PL match winner in seasons to come but right now he doesn't look worthy of a place on the bench in the Championship.

Doubt we will...

Against Peterborough Rogers went through one on one and put it into near post side-netting. Bury that with confidence and who knows he may have taken off. But I just don't see that he's up to this level. Maybe in a year or two.

Even Ro Ro gave us flashes of something. Morgan hasn't given the supporters anything to think he can affect a game in any way.
