Jamal Lowe

I guess we arent expecting JL to be in the squad today to avoid being cup tied? Or given the clubs he may go to, maybe that wont matter as they wont be expecting to go far?

Probably not to risk an injury if there is a deal on the table.

Sounds like we are playing it safe in the window in case we go down

Yes, think at this point, I'd rather see Lowe and players of similar ilk go out on loan, assuming we don;t need to sell to help sign better players permanently.

Plus it is much easier to send players out on loan rather than sell them when they are sitting on a nice PL contract.

We may need to do this at short notice too if it takes near to the deadline before we get in the necessary replacement. We cannot afford to let him go without a striker coming in as an upgrade to challenge Solanke & Moore.

I read that JL was on 12k pw. IF? that figure is correct, it's not a lot of money for an ambitious Championship club.

It shouldn't be that hard to sell him if there are a dozen clubs after him.

I'm not sure how motivated I'd be next season if I was Lowe. Plays a part in the promotion, not given a chance in the PL, sent on loan so we can keep him to help with s promotion push after which he knows we'll dump him again.

Thats the issue isn;t it, same for any player. Manager needs to assess how motivated a player is, if they're not too enthused by being used in that manner, which is understandable, you have to move them on. Even if 'on paper' seems like a useful option and track record, he may no longer be truly dedicated to the cause...

QPR have expressed an interest in signing Bournemouth striker Jamal Lowe.

The 28 year-old has only made two Premier League appearances this season and has found game-time hard to come by.

The London-born striker has been a target for a number of Championship clubs in this window, but QPR look to have hit the front of the queue.
