Premier League 23/24

I have seen similar reported, I would imagine there is a good deal of sweating going on at Everton and Florist right now. I won't hold my breath waiting for the football world to be fair.

What's fair though? Ten points, 15? Is FFP fair at all? It doesn't seem to be when the state-owned clubs seemingly don't bother with it and just throw better lawyers at the authorities.

I don't know what the answer is but I'm not particularly convinced that Everton and forest deserve points deductions because they haven't managed to reconstruct football to their advantage like the top clubs have. Even the idea that Man City shouldn't be allowed to do what they have done because their rightful place is scrubbing around mid table whilst their illustrious neighbours fight for titles doesn't seem right.

The whole thing is a murky business with integrity out of the window a long time ago. I moaned when AFCB, Rotherham and Luton got stiffed so I won't be jumping for joy if forest and Everton get docked 15 points each.

Couldn't agree more. FFP has always existed to keep the big club hierarchy in place.

So are we saying that clubs may not know what division they are playing in? If so they won't know their budgets for squad building etc.
From what I have read the verdict will be in April but any appeals may not be completed until after the end of the season and applied to the current season.

With the focus on our game, rightly so, it slipped by that today's results did us no favours, with Palace, Fulham and Everton getting points.

A good general indicator of mid-table and safety is if the Wins and Draws added together outweigh the defeats....our is 7 - 7 - 11. ..( so +3 ).

Only Everton below us has a positive figure (+4)
All the others are negative.
Forest are ( - 2)...Brentford ( - 3)

Palace and Fulham, slightly above us on points but played 1 more game are both ( +2 )

Of course ongoing form comes into the equation.

I keep my eye on this factor every season and it is very reliable when quelling any worries !

To have 2 teams at the bottom averaging half a point a game after 26 games is pretty poor. If Everton get a few points back they will be on the verge of giving up I reckon.

Watched the Wolves game this afternoon and what a Jekyll and Hyde performance it was.

Played open attacking football in the first half and looked really dangerous, but only got the one goal.

Came out for the second half with the same players but what a more negative performance it was.

The held out for their three points that took them up to eighth spot, but could so easily ended up with a draw at the end as Sheffield United were the better team in the second half.

Wolves had 13 shots with 2 on target.

Sheffield United had 12 shots with 4 on target.

This was the point I was making about winning v entertainment. Would I rather watch Wolves football and have more points or our football and less points…

The latter for me everyday of the week

That is a typical GON game for me. Good luck to him with it but it ain't a lot of fun.
