Richard Hughes

One thing I think everyone can agree on is that Blake and Hughes got it massively wrong when they appointed JT post relegation, Neil is right when he infers that even a semi-competent manager would have had us top 2 that season. Hell, a semi-competent manager DID get us top two the next season with a weaker squad! JT was such a bad appointment post Eddie that they do deserve at least some level of questioning as to their competency imo.

That's the only really poor managerial appointment they've made though, plus it was during a time when they had to slash costs during a truncated pre season. You can understand the logic behind appointing a cheap continuity candidate in those circumstances even if the outcome was poor.

They also sacked him when he needed to go, as they did with parker.

I don't think anyone other than Neil Dawson and maybe Waz from here feels he has done a particularly bad job with recruitment. Blake on the other hand......

Tbf if Istabraq is right about Max Demin being behind the appointment of Tindall and that it was against the recommendations of Blake and Hughes then what has Blake actually got wrong in terms of appointments?

To be honest the gap between the seasons was so small, by the time Eddie went it was a very short period to appoint someone. This didn't help getting someone in place

I suspect that Max became very concerned about his exposure during that period. I would have thought that the massive wages that Blake was on were bonus related and linked to key performance indicators such as cutting costs and promotion. I've no idea tbf but I suspect his wages under Foley will be much lower, although there may still be a significant survival bonus.

However, recent performances and results have fallen well below the board’s expectations.

We feel a change is needed now in order to give the club the best possible chance of achieving the goals that were clearly set out last summer.

We would like to place on record our thanks to Jason for his services to AFC Bournemouth over the past 22 years.

Just asking a silly question.

Is Richard leaving or not?

(Personally I think he and Blake have done well for the club, but there again I know very little)
There was that rumour/story at the beginning of this thread back in November.

Not seen anything since except him possibly being linked with a similar job at Liverpool at the end of the season.

Think there was a post the other day on our website mentioning he could be leaving after the Winter window closes.

But there has been nothing from the local media, Kris T or M M as far as I know.

Was he the guy who used to cut JT's hedge and knew everything about the goings on in the club and would then tell Dawson the stories down the pub.

According to today’s Athletic, Dan Ashworth has informed Newcastle of United’s approach. It’ll be interesting to see how this pans out. Will this possibly herald Hughes departure? Will Francis stay, be promoted (unlikely I should think) or follow Hughes?

I thought from the original post on this thread towards the beginning of last November, Hughes was imminently going to leave his job at AFCB.

Since then he has been linked with Eddie (again), then Liverpool and now maybe Eddie again.

Tomorrow morning he probably will be back at Dean Court, three months after he was supposed to be leaving.

Maybe they heard of his drinking problem :D
