AFC Bournemouth v Nottingham Forest - Sunday 2 pm

A scrappy crappy match, both teams and officials were bellow par.

Notts are in a relegation fight ( unless or until they get a points deduction). They came to play the way they did and the ref played into their hands. It doesn't bother me what nationality the coach is but ones that use that "anti-football" approach, I don't like. I don't like leaving my nice warm house to watch it and I don't enjoy watching it on the tv, in my nice warm house. The thing is, Nuno's job is keeping them up, not entertaining me and the Good Lady. A late winner is always sweeter against teams like that but after Philip's red card it was unlikely. I don't think raking the lad's achilles was intentional but the foul was, obviously. Had he only been booked, I feel VAR would have interfered and he would have been off anyway. Christie's dead leg also had a detrimental affect on us.

I think the ref was poor and we've had ones like that before against teams like Notts and it just helps ruin the match as a spectacle. She was booed by both sets of fans, obviously more by us than them but she looked out of her depth. Also I noticed she nearly collided with one of our players during the match, Prem' refs very rarely do. She's got a lot to learn, and I hope she does. She was inconspicuous against QPR, I hope she can be a top referee. But she's going to need support and help from the Ref's union to stop her becoming a bette noir for women refs. They need to be sure she's up to the tasks they set her, not rush her elevation. That performance in a bigger, televised match will finish her career and set back women refs for years.

Last couple of matches the player look a little jaded, not much but enough to stop us winning either. The way we've played since "it's clicked" under Andoni has moved us from a team people target as a "winnable" to a "stop them winning". I have every confidence AI and the players will adapt. As fans we're a tad disappointed to "only" draw away to 6th place West Ham and draw at home with 10 men. We've come a long way, in a short time, and I feel we've not reached the upper limit yet : )

Ps I've met hundreds , if not thousands, of football supporters and I can't remember any of them being "pigsh*t ignorant". I would say most are the exact opposite. People that spout bullsh*t and bollo*ks with self assured authority having not been anywhere near watching the match, now that's a different shovel of pigsh*t ignorance : )

pps all the booing and abuse directed towards the ref, from where I was in the North Stand, wasn't gender based. It was "not fit to referee" based : )

If she fails as a ref, I'm sure she can get a job commentating.

I thought Semenyo was worst player 1st half, the way he was jumping in the air for headers was bizarre. Dom, Kluivert also had very quiet poor games, when Tavernier came he ran into their players every time - he's been nowhere near level he was last season.
Attack was really off it today, Sini was the only one who did well in attack who threatened and Cook did alright in mid.
Also for some reason no one wanted to pass to Smith in space on the right he was clearly angry throughout.

In hindsight Scott should've started, thought it was strange he didn't start.

And in scrappy games like that you appreciate having Moore on bench as plan B
Well hopefully we’ll soon have Ünal to bring on.

At 80 minutes we desperately needed a game changing option from the bench, but the cupboard was bare.
Ünal has a decent shot on him as well as all of his other attributes, so he could add something we are missing, particularly in tight matches.

Really looking forward to seeing what he can contribute, once he gets that pesky visa !

There is, it seems, quite a bit of experimenting occuring...which is understandable from Iraola in his inaugural season in the PL...and now that we are virtually assured of safety...even more experimental changes to come as he sorts out his squad for his intentions next season.
It's all very exciting and so a bit silly to get annoyed at a few setbacks here and there.
Not many thrashings coming our way now and we are seen as a threat by just about all clubs when we are on our best form...so on the fields at least....we are climbing out of the Tinpot.!
:punch:

It's such a great pity though that one has to be so careful what you say on the Fans Forum, which attempts to, and in some cases succeeds in suppressing the real characters that once were the lifeblood of our terraced crowds...the 'mouth on a stick' geezers that made you laugh and gee'd up the atmosphere !

So very regrettable id say !

Woke and other such movements and cults are doing so much damage to our national identity and to our traditional cultural traits !

Yeah I thought it was strange Scott didn't start.

But I think Al thought Christie and Cook would boss the midfield and we would spread the ball wide and play down the flanks.

Didn't really work out like that though.

Iriolas system would work wonders with some shrewd additions.

For all that has been spent, we do have a whole pile of average players.

None, other than Solanke are being considered, and that's purely down to the goals he's scored for us.

He is usually well marshaled by the very top teams, he was anonymous today, and (despite the early tap in) against WHU.

There are no other players we have that would be seriously considered by any top 10 teams.

Kelly is getting attention because his contract is running out.......no other reason whatsoever.

Zabarnyi may be the only player we have who may be wanted and who will play with better players around him.

If I'm wrong, name the other players who I have missed.

It says he's 6'1 - (not Kieffer height but no other striker out there is) but he's still tall so hopefully he's physical, good on the ball and can score a few and also has a bit of pace because pace and pressing are the two main things Kieffer lacks and can never be a PL starter. I did like having him on bench though because his abnormal height is an advantage against big defenders for late corners and crosses.

Our poorest performance for a long time. Without the rocks of Zabarnyi and Senesi in defence we'd have lost that game and we probably would've lost it last season.

Dom looked very weak today and was bullied off the ball throughout so nothing stuck up front. Too many long balls today and no mixing if up with anything intricate through the middle. The diagonals are effective but the aimless punts down the line are less so.

Kluivert should clearly have been sent off and Yates, as he always does, spent 90 minutes kicking people.

Cook was the only one of our midfield or attack to have a good game, and possibly Sinni. We were very sloppy on the ball and a better side would've punished us today.

Probably put it down to tiredness mostly, but we need to mix up our approach when Plan A isn't effective.

If he’d been available, then I’m sure that he would have been given a cameo late on. In the second half we really didn’t look like scoring. We needed something a bit different because Forest were comfortable dealing with the threats we had on the pitch.

I think that Ünal SHOULD be an upgrade on Moore because he has much more to his game. Before his ACL injury he looked pretty much like a top level, complete, number nine.

If he can get match fit and avoid another injury, I have high hopes for Ünal at AFCB !

First 10 mins, 1-0 up and looking good... and then it just went downhill for the rest of the game. The ref lost the plot and made poor decisions against both teams. Notts Forest are an awful shithouse team full of big units that spent most of the game rolling around on the floor. Their manager used to have Wolves playing in an effective but thoroughly boring way, now he is doing the same with less talented players.

However, I think we have to look at ourselves as we were poor today and Iraola has to take some blame for that. Solanke had zero support throughout the game and punting long balls down either flank in the hope something will stick just isn't good enough. The last time we tried that was the utter debacle at Everton and we have improved so much since then, so I was disappointed to see that approach today. Most of team just didn't seem to be on it today, and our general passing and possession was simply not good enough. Hopefully Iraola can reset before the next game and we get some of our swagger back.

I do hope the football Gods can somehow work it out that Luton finish above Notts Forest this year. Forest led a charmed life last season and they are even worse now. That, coupled with their deluded supporters, means it would be comedy gold to see 'the world famous City Ground' hosting games in the second and third tiers for another 20 years.

I think Sini has got some real technical talent but he's the least likely of other attackers to track back and be the team player - that's the sacrifice.

I think Scott {20} Zabi (21) and Kerkez (20) have very high potential to be sold to a big club. Before Kerkez got injured I really enjoyed him bombing down left even though it cost us couple goals. Since his injury we've been bit unstable at LB and played Kelly, Hill, Smith there and Kerkez still not fully fit coming off bench and Solanke will probably be our record sale.

The rest of squad are mainly grafters, it's hard to criticize Christie for losing the ball for their goal today because of the non stop effort he puts in every game, same for Cook.

I also think Kelly will be a miss he's solid player overall, at LB he's not going to bomb down flank like Kerkez as he's a CB but shame we will lose him for nothing as he's nearly always reliable and versatile.

Yes all of the 20 somethings may well get scouted at some stage.

Scott the obvious one, and the others you have mentioned.

It's the 25 somethings we have on our books who wouldn't get another contract at any other club.

The Billing to Newcastle rumours were laughable.

There is not a hope in hell that Billing would fit into a high intensity team.

Today's was a very tired-looking performance. The front 4 in particular looked disjointed, no matter who they were.

I guess I am in the minority because the only big problem I had with the referee was on Kluivert's yellow. I thought that was unjust, but later he could have had a couple, easily.

Crucially, we did not lose. To play that poorly and gain a point can be seen as a positive.

Not when you're pushing to be in the top 10.

I'm hoping Unal can inject some impetus into the attack.

Solanke has scored 14 goals this season, and what an achievement that is.

He is however, a long way off being an England striker.

He hardly kicked the ball in the last 2 games (apart from the early goal ve WHU)

He doesn't have enough quality to be considered for the England squad.

Sorry.

I don't think Dom is at the level of Watkins or Toney yet in terms of all round game despite the goals. His finishing has been exceptional this season but he was too easily bullied out of the game yesterday and doesn't have the pace of Watkins. He's not far off England squad IMO but still has work to do.
