Lewis Cook

It's a revelation that Cookie could possibly (as seemed to be the case) be called upon to play CB but to play Aarons as a CB too in the same game is a bit of a stretch. I'm sure Max played the whole game as RB.
Possibly, I had to watch it online. It looked like 3 and the commentator called it a 3 too. But those in the ground like Neil say a 4 so happy to be corrected.

Thought Cook was excellent again today. Says a lot that the manager moves him around to other positions rather than take him off.

MOTM

What a great season he has had. I questioned in the past if he could consistently control the midfield in the prem, which he'd not always managed to do but he's produced consistent great performances in the middle and hasn't done much wrong when he's been required to fill in at the back.

I think experience is always key for a midfielder and learning how to control games

Whilst I fully understand the admiration for Christie, Solanke, Semenyo, Kluivert et al, big shout out to Lewis Cook, who has faced both adversity in terms of injuries and people jumping on his every mistake.
Goes about the game in a totally unassuming manner and quietly plays bloody brilliant week in, week out.
Fack knows, if he scores before the end of the season, it will be the icing on the cake for a superb season overall.

He has definitely had his best season in an AFCB shirt this season.
Amazing consistency from Lewis and he really does deserve a huge amount of credit.
Wouldn't be surprised to see him shortlisted for player of the season, although coming up with a list that is short will be a challenge in itself. So many players have had their best season this season.

Fantastic result yesterday. Unfortunately I couldn't watch it because it wasn't on telly

I thought he was excellent yesterday, particularly in the first half. Patrolled the midfield like a dervish. Possibly having to take a bit more defensive responsibility in Christie's absence.

Agree entirely, Sets the tempo for the side in possession. Works his socks off every week and capable of really incisive passes. Well done Lewis Cook!

Also, I’m going to join Druss on his England bandwagon for Lewis Cook if the squad size is increased to 26.

Whilst I argued that Mainoo was a fair call up at the time I'm inclined to agree, their form has been chalk and cheese since then in Lewis's favour. Certainly not writing Mainoo off but if you need a CDM then Cook has to be in the conversation.
