Sorry but Neto just not good enough…he should have caught the ball for the second goal conceded…it was almost chest high and he punched it!

Agree with this. It’s been a long time since we had a keeper that commands crosses into the box. Maybe it’s overall game coaching or even Moss’s coaching but we’ve looked vulnerable in this area for a very long time. That Neto punch into Solanke for the second goal was particularly poor; just below his awful pass to the incoming Sheff Utd forward to give him a goal for the first.

There are many players who are top Championship players.

Neto, Brooks, Rothwell, Moore etc.

The gulf between the PL and the Championship is greater than most people consider.

I also agree Travers is not a PL level keeper.

We do, and it could be a fcking good one if we made a few more prudent investments.

An upgrade here, an upgrade there.

Not the scattergun approach of spending Bills money.

Defensively we have made some shrewd investments. Zabarnyi, Kerkez, Senesi.

It's the throw enough **************** and one should stick approach in all the other parts of the team where it doesn't look so good.

Traore, if we get our money back for him, there is an actual God, and I may start going to church.

Scott, haven't seen enough of him at this stage, but a huge outlay, hasn't really made the step between Champuonship and PL, but is young and has development to come.

Outtara, 20 million of the most unpredictable football one could imagine.

Let's say that again..... 20 million.

He hasn't looked like a 20 million player at any stage, just like Traore.

Unal should come good, Adam's possibly.

20 million on Sinisterra who can't displace Tav.

Don't forget we tried to sign Castrovilli and Zaniero.

For fxks sake, Liverpool can have Hughes, he hasn't pulled up any trees in the last 2 years at all.

SDD will be wanking himself furiously that he's won a debate with Neil, but let's be honest Hughes hasn't signed anyone outstanding in the forward places for 3 years.

Then there was that Ecuadorian guy...Foley announced the signing, it never happened.

Foley pays for the players, he doesn't negotiate the deals.

That's why Hughes is off.....not because he was brilliant at what he did.

Solanke jumped for it and was millimeters away from it.

Neto was right behind him.

He would not have seen that ball for the majority of its trajectory.

Especially so when Solanke didn't make contact with it.

Not Solankes fault, but it's extremely harsh to think Neto could have caught the bloody ball.

Watch it again.

Not sure. Tavs stuff a bit OTT imo, but Neto's contributions caused us serious issues to overcome!

Buying players is always a gamble especially if they haven’t tasted PL football…it’s just too simplistic to criticise recruitment constantly.
I mean United signed a few that haven’t worked out like Anthony…Martial…Van de Beek etc…we are no different!
Also massive point is that the players themselves don’t make their transfer fees?
We have upgraded from three years ago but it’s harsh to pan individual players who may still adjust and come good…Solanke and Christie were slow burners to be fair.
 
Neto has cost us too many points this season. Surely Franno will be targeting an upgrade this Summer? I've been impressed with Kelleher at Liverpool.
