AFC Bournemouth v Spurs

PL

Referee: Paul Tierney. Assistants: Marc Perry, Simon Long. Fourth official: Steve Martin. Replacement official: Graham Kane. VAR: Michael Oliver. Assistant VAR: Sian Massey-Ellis.

We have had him four times this season.

Home - Everton

Away - Brighton, Norwich and Liverpool.

We looked good at home to Everton.

They are with winning 1-0...so 1 point behind Arsenal... who they will want to overtake on Thursday!
Neglected to think of that in earlier post!

I don't see Norwich getting anything at Watford.Funny Villa and Westham got points away at Newcastle and we lose 4-1 at home.We had enough chances to turn it around nothing really coming our way.

Son showing again that he's a hot head last night. I hope we wind him up again, he will react.
It's odd he has this reputation among Spurs fans of being an angel. Yet time and again we see him acting up: the odd stamp here, throwing his toys around there.

At least we know Lerma (or Arter previously) were slightly cynical bastards.

I'm feeling quite optimistic about Thursday, despite the win last night Spurs aren't playing well or as a cohesive unit at present, and rather like Bournemouth aren't scoring many goals. An early goal would unsettle them and put them on the back foot.
I don't think it will be a classic game of football but if we can attack their full backs and get Brooks pulling the strings a win is on the cards.

I'm amazed at the positivity on the forum when we've had 4 defeats after the restart. 4 goals for and 13 against.
I suppose we've been lucky that the teams at the bottom apart from Brighton and West Ham latterly have been rubbish too.

Ideal result tonight would be Norwich to win but I think Watford will.

We Need To Repeat Last Season’s Result

The Cherries have now had four consecutive defeats since the start after lockdown behind closed doors, the latest being the 5-2 result at Old Trafford against Manchester U the form team in the Premier League. With other results from teams around us not going against us, our team are still in with a chance of avoiding the drop, but they need to pickup a win soon. That opportunity presents itself on Thursday at Dean Court when the visitors are Tottenham (Spurs).

In the January transfer window Spurs made three signings, midfielder Giovani Lo Celso on a permanent basis from Real Betis for £27 million, he had previously been on loan. Winger Steven Bergwijn from PSV Eindhoven for an undisclosed fee. Midfielder Gedson Fernandes from Benfica on loan with the option to buy. One player who left Spurs was Christian Eriksen after five and a half years, he has joined Inter Milan for £16.9 million.

Spurs away from home have had as many defeats as AFCB at home, both sides losing 7 games.
Spurs have won 3 away games and drawn 6. Since our game away in November, Spurs have won 2 away games, beating Wolves and Aston Villa. Drawn with Norwich, Watford and Burnley. Lost against Manchester U, Southampton, Chelsea and since lockdown Sheffield U.
Their home form has been better, they have beaten Burnley, Brighton, Norwich, Manchester C and since lockdown West Ham and Everton. They have had one draw and that was since lockdown against Manchester U.

The last time we played Spurs at Dean Court was May last year and it was our first victory against them in a league game.
In all home games in the PL, AFCB have W 1, D 1, L 2. In all competitions, AFCB have W 2, D 1, L 7.

AFCB Team News
Our injury list include Charlie Daniels with a knee injury, also with knee injuries Simon Francis and Chris Mepham. Steve Cook thigh injury, Jack Stacey with a calf strain and Andrew Surman with a knock. Back after a two game suspension is Callum Wilson.

AFCB Player To Watch
We need goals, the two main players to do that for us are Josh King and leading scorer Callum Wilson. Josh King had a better game against Manchester U and hoping that Callum Wilson after missing two games due to suspension, will now have an improved performance against Spurs, a club he had been linked with after his form gained him an England call up. He needs to get back on the scoresheet again, his last goal was away to Liverpool. We really need these two players back to playing the way we know they can.

Spurs Team News
Dele Alli been out with a thigh injury, Juan Marcos Foyth with a knee injury and Japhet Tanganga with a back injury.

Spurs Player To Watch
Harry Kane so dangerous around the goal and had scored in his last two games before last night. He has scored 13 goals this season. The other player is Son Heung-Min on the wing, he has scored 9 goals and leads with 9 assists.

If Watford turn Norwich over tomorrow, our upcoming games could be all but irrelevant anyhow... 4 points ahead and better GD...

it's already mission impossible...
I think you are spot on, it gone to far without a result in our favour. We have nobody to blame but ourselves for poor previous performances. Even if we win we still need 2 more wins then that's maybe not enough.

Not sure how "positive" it is, TC, tbh. 90% on the poll say we are down. There is a small core of us .... the "deludeds" ..... who are trying to keep the spirits up. Most of the rest are employing the defense mechanism of "expect nothing and you'll never be disappointed......". Fair enough, I suppose.
