A good read and pleased he’s settled back in Spain… Whilst he ended up being reasonably solid, it was clear he perhaps wasn’t happy in the UK… and not completely suited to the English game… Oooh but that free kick!!!!
Reading that article with how he was treated under JT and then Woodgate, I’m not surprised it ended in him demanding to return home… Doesn’t seem like he has many good memories from his time at DC, which is a shame as I think the fans took to him eventually and he became almost a bit of a cult player…

Really interesting to see him say he wasn't happy (I get why) but you'd have never known it when he played or interacted with fans. Always seemed a good guy and couldn't fault his effort. I didn't know about the Atleti link, could see how he'd be peeved at that not coming around! Good luck to him and his brother!
