Eddie Howe

Do you think Eddie should go

I think the key mistake Eddie has made was failing to recognise what precisely made his system so effective. For me it was down to the group of players we had at the time and the understanding they had on the pitch rather than being part of some dynamic tactical revolution.

As others have said, we are a team in transition. Some of the old guard has moved on and superior talent has been added. On the whole, the recruitment has been good, but it should have been more apparent that these players weren’t going to fit into a system that essentially was developed in L1.

Now you could argue we should have recruited players specifically to fit Eddie’s system. That’s nonsense because such players simply don’t exist. Very few players with the ability to play in the PL would have much experience playing in a 4-4-2 and that includes players signed from Championship clubs too.

Instead of pigeon holing new recruits into a system which was no longer effective, it would have been better to have evolved the system to reflect the different talent sets of these recruits.
This right here is absolutely bang on and is the reason why we are where we are in the table. Howe needs to adapt the system that made us so effective and if he is unable to do so, needs to bring in somebody that can help him achieve this. I honestly believe unless this happens we are relegated

Eddie is now 6/4 fav to be the next manager to go.
AFCB 5/6 3rd fav to be relegated after Norwich and Villa
I get the reason for the odds for him to go, as other factors aren't taken into account when setting the odds. By which I mean the loyalty of the club and fans as an example - a lot of posters on here are saying they would want Eddie to stay even if we were relegated.

Analysis

BBC Sport's Tony Husband

Bournemouth have no intention of adding any fuel to the fire by publicly backing the Cherries boss, they simply feel they don't need to.

The most successful manager in the club's history is facing the most difficult period of his career and fans are no doubt frustrated.

But the majority around the club hope he is the right man to turn it around, while most supporters would back a change of approach rather than a change of manager.

It’s times like this that the supposed ground swell of opinion is that the fans have turned on Howe and want him to go.

Let’s test that and bump this poll back up. You can change your vote so if you’ve changed your mind over the past couple of weeks feel free.

At time of bumping its 8 votes from 70 that want Howe gone.

So since bumping this for the first time since 28th December. With voters having the chance to change their original vote. The number backing Howe has moved to 102 from 111 votes.

The number of “outs” has grown by 1 from an additional 41 votes.

So 9 people less now back him and one more wants him sacked. Where did all the other votes go?

I think it was Garbo (apologies if not) that asked if we'd be gutted if we were to wake up to headlines of Eddie's departure (be that resignation or sacked)... Putting it like that, and even after yesterday's debacle, I still would be gutted...

So my vote stays firmly as it was... Eddie should stay.

Might have been me. Apology not accepted. Outside. NOW!

It's no good playing out from the back if you don't have the skill to do it. The first goal was so obviously going to happen. There seems to be no plan B and we look relegation certainties. Only Norwich look as rubbish as us.

So is that a yes then?

For those voting Eddie out, who exactly are they suggesting replaces him? Pulis & Allardyce dinosaurs surely not, or an inexperienced manager from lower leagues. If you want eddie to go, say who should come in? What manager could cope with these injuries. As has been said be careful what your wish for
