European Super League

Clubs should be playing 2 games per week through a season...with NO breaks....for the amount they get paid.
If a European game means 3 per week..so be it..they have huge squads...Chelsea got about 30 out on Loan innit ffs !
And anyway..they could get rid of the Mickey Mouse Cup...no one is bothered with it.
The FA Cup which must stay...is only a couple of extra games - 6 at most for the Winners.

When you see the hours NHS people are putting down....

Basic economics means if they have to play more games, the clubs will make more money and therefore the players will be paid more. The amount they are paid is fair based on the companies performance.

Can't read the article but if he actually used 'take the fight...' as his choice of words... what a ****************.

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has accused club owners trying to resurrect a European Super League of ‘living in a parallel world’ and took aim at Juventus chief Andrea Agnelli.

Plans for a breakaway competition involving a dozen prominent clubs from England, Spain and Italy folded amid a furious backlash from fans, national associations and UEFA last year.

However, reports suggest that Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus are plotting to relaunch the idea imminently in another direct challenge to UEFA and its Champions League.

Ceferin accused those plotters of trying to bring the Super League idea back using the distraction of the brutal conflict in Ukraine.

He was speaking at the Financial Times Business of Football Summit in London, where Juventus chairman Agnelli, who resigned as chairman of the European Club Association [ECA] to start the Super League, is due to speak later and watched Ceferin speak from the front row.

Quite amazing for any of the English clubs to be involved considering the reaction they received both from their own fans and politically.

All matches to be played in Kharkiv ?

Let them go. No loss whatsoever.

They can play for the mega supergalactic tip top shiny sparkly no relegation no risk no fun cup.

Matches played for the benefit of armchair supporters in stadia with no atmosphere because there are no away fans. Sounds marvelous.

Just think of how many half and half scarves they will sell.
