European Super League

Easy solution. Let real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus go off and form their "super" league (European Super League) as these are the biggest clubs in the world (as proven by the huge piles of cash they each have in the bank). Their footballing superiority will be shown by not having relegation.

Then these three simply play each other each week from August until May, every year, forever. There will be full houses in the stadiums and a world-wide TV audience of 227 billion (using the same formula that Qatar used for counting attendances in the World Cup).

The winners of the league will be crowned as super champions, the runners-up as premier champions and the third placed club will be championship champions.

If that doesn't satisfy demand to see these giants play, there will be the ESL Challenge Cup, the ESL League Cup and the ESL Champions League (with guaranteed entry to the round of 3). The winners, runners up and third place of each of each competition will qualify for the European Super League Super Cup.

Each year, the winners of the European Super League Super Cup will play the runners-up of the European Super League Super Cup in the Super European Super League Super Cup.

Annually, there will be a match between the winners of the European Super League Super Cup and the Super European Super League Super Cup for the prestigious Super European Super League Super Trophy.

Cant wait...
Sounds simply super!

This has probably been brought up before somewhere in the 46 pages.

Surely there are enough European competitions already for the teams from various countries to compete in.

Two of the biggest clubs in Spain seem desperate for it and one from Italy.

We get complaints from managers already re player fatigue from those in various leagues/cups in England and Europe, without this as well.

More of a case of when rather than if ?

Not sure where this goes.

The latest version has been referred to as a zombie league. But the new incarnation of the champions league is a bit of a Frankenstein league, the type of tournament you end up with having a committee making decisions.

Neither scenario is ideal, something has to change.

But cannot see anything out of the remit of UEFA working due to the repercussions it would have on international football.

If the European Super League can convince players to bin off their international careers, then you have a tournament that can rival the Premier League for tv revenue.

In Golf, the European Tour has won their court case against LIV, whereby the ET can ban players that went to LIV Golf.

Pretty important to this European Super League as the reference case for a company (EPL) been allowed to protect their product by not allowing competitors to also play for a rival.

If they can create an effective power base, this could get interesting.

Up to now, the biggest clubs have been able to dictate what they want to UEFA and claim it's for "the good if all football", when in fact it's only to their benefit. Having another voice at the table which says the ECA is full of self-interested guff would hopefully help UEFA push back.
