FA Cup replays scrapped

There are some good things in there. Having all rounds on the weekends, having a clear day of no Premier League matches on FA Cup final day… although a shame it’s not after the league season has finished.

Perhaps there’s more prize money available through the qualifying rounds and first round proper etc.

More guaranteed income for more clubs is a good thing, even if that element of a lottery win for an fa cup replay has gone.

Just looking for the positives.

It means that both teams have to look to win it, although I could imagine smaller teams playing negatively for penalties.

We won't have such a fixture backlog next year, what with European games. Last thing we want is a replay to Kidderminster just before a match against FC Solvang CobbleCloggers.

Smaller clubs rarely win a replay, so more chdnce of winning via penalties and going to next round.
It nay not come with the cash of a replay away at a bigger club/ground with associated TV money, but let's remember, fans remember what round we reached, not how much money we made

The competition lost it's credibility when the FA let Man Utd jet off to Brazil to play in tournament. We seem to have suffered from persistent whining from top 6 managers about tired players. The competition has been watered down over the last few years and what was once a leading competition is now seen as an inconvenience to some teams.

Funny thing is these top teams get to the final stages generally so surely they aren’t that bothered about extra games .

Just play a load of kids in the 3rd round to get knocked out which is what some in the lower PL and Championship do.

When has Wednesday to Monday been a weekend?

729 clubs competed in the FA Cup last season. I wonder how many of them were asked for their input into these format strengthening ideas.
I’ll guess at 3.
