Harry Arter

...think rather like Pitman...Harry owes us nothing he has given his absolute all for this club...so he should be allowed to leave in a reasonable manner, if we got £10 million then that is a great return for someone who cost us next to nothing...

Only Eddie knows, but I still really struggle getting my head around Arter being behind Gosling and Surman...?

No one on here will ever know the truth behind what's gone on with Harry, and maybe Eddie, in the last 18 months, but if he needs ot go then he needs to go... Tbf, if NW keeps Cardiff up, you might actually see the move as a step forward for him... I certainly think they're a bigger club than us, and definitely have better facilities etc.

Who knows... Good luck to him, wherever he ends up, even tho I;'d have love to have seen him and Cook line up together on Saturday, against Cardiff....

Sadly harry is behind surman and gosling on merit at present. He used to be the heartbeat of the team though.

The demands of top level football mean midfield all rounders are coming a dying breed and there is more emphasis on specialists.

If you look at Arter, he is quite good at a lot of things but doesn’t really excel at anything. He doesn’t recycle possession as well as Surman, he doesn’t break into the box like Gosling, he doesn’t protect the back 4 and he’s not really creative anymore. He just does a little bit of everything

Our midfield recruitment reflects this trend to. Lerma is finally that defensive player we’ve always asked for. Brooks is a pure attack minded creator.

For me if Arter wants to be a PL player, he needs to work out what type of player he wants to be. Even someone as talented as Pogba is struggling at Man Utd over his best role in their side!

At Cardiff we have plenty of huff & puff midfielders, but the kingpin is Joe Ralls, who is very similar to Arter in that he does a bit of everything. I think the two would compliment each other well, being a left and right combination.

Huff and puff might be just the ticket to success like it was for Hudds last year and us in our first season in the PL. Outworking technically better teams. Harry should fit the bill because he's a real battler. His form has dipped a bit in the last year or so but at his best he's top quality and I'm sure the vast majority of AFCB will be hoping Cardiff do well with HA in their side (obviously not as well as us hopefully).

If you could please go one better than Swansea and relegate Southampton this season - don't expect any help from us though, we will roll over for them no matter how crap they are.

"I certainly think they're a bigger club than us, and definitely have better facilities etc. "

This is true SJL but we have spent more seasons in the top league than they have on merit, if you go down that route then a transfer to Portsmouth or Bradford City could be construed as a "step forward"

Having said that I hope that Cardiff stay up and flourish, they are in there scrapping with the other 13 of us, good luck to them (apart from Saturday of course).

Seems that he could well be off to Cardiff before the deadline closes. Lots of talk on Twitter that he’s due a medical there today, but others quoting Newcastle and Stoke also interested.

Either way I don’t think he’ll be a Bournemouth player come 5pm tomorrow.

Well I have no idea if he will be an afcb player come 5pm tomorrow.

But I do know he wasn’t in Cardiff today as I saw him in town this afternoon. :D

Interesting DJ, although The latest on twitter is it’s more likely to be a loan than a permanent transfer now. Which isn’t great business if there is any truth

Harry in an "exclusive interview" with Parrot at The Harbour Heights "....Cardiff? I thought the gaffer said I needed to be in CanfordCliffs..."

I rate Arter really highly and would be sad to see him go. Love his energy, commitment and passion on the pitch. We don’t have anyone else quite like him at the club. One biting tackle of his can energise the whole team in an instant. Sadly, for whatever reason, he’s struggled to break into the team over the last year or so. He deserves to be playing regularly and if that means having to move elsewhere, he should go with our blessing. And Cardiff is a great city to live in, having lived there for 4 years myself.
