How Sunday will pan out.....

I'm actually in Bournemouth this weekend.

Any suggestions for a pub in, or near, the Town Centre where I can watch the nails being hammered into our coffin?
 
All our obvious and varied thoughts aside ....

...a couple of fateful incidents in all three games...the unforeseen stuff....sending offs. and some contro penalties...an effortless handball...a goalkeeper off for something stupid...can swing it back and forth at the 80 to 95 minutes period...knackered players errors....a VAR balls up the favourite..
Could still be our day !
 
Since the restart we've had plenty of chances to be in the driving seat next Sunday.
Win against Spurs (+2 pts) , draw with Saints, ill deserved probably (+1 pt).

Deserve to go down, that's the truth of the matter.

Would we want all this again next season if we stay up? Actually thinking about it, probably same in the Championship too. Major rethink required.

You're spot on in that survival would only mean doing all this again next season. We've got players leaving even if we stay up, players that need to be moved on, and we've got raw players still developing. We would not be magically better next season in the PL.

The huge financial benefits of survival aside....If we could somehow magically guarantee relegation followed by promotion, that would be the ideal for the development of Stacey, Kelly, Ramsdale, Travers, Surridge, Solanke et all. Of course that's not how football works.

Its Villa that I am worried about... I actually think Arsenal will stuff Watford and I reckon we'll get a 1-0 win... but I think Villa and WHU will play out the draw...
 
Not what I think will actually happen but just to make conversation...

Villa know they just need to match Watford’s result. Watford know they have to better Villa’s result. First scenario is if one of these sides goes a couple of goals down early the other doesn’t chase the game and ‘settles’ for a 1-0 defeat to avoid ruining their GD.

The 2nd scenario is both teams desperately chase the game to get the goal they think will keep them up. In doing so they leave themselves open and throw the game away.

This only works if we are considered already down. So we’d need to be 1-0 down after 89mins and hit 2 quick goals in injury time!
