Glastonbury must be a death trap. You should read the Supporter Liaison Officer Update April 2024 on COWS. Apparently, "Risk to supporters is generated by those standing in seated areas where there are no measures in place to prevent a progressive crowd collapse". It's worrying stuff..
Are people allowed to stand whilst queing 30 minutes to get food/drink or use the toilets? They should install benches and you shuffle along to get to the front of the queue. Better to get splinters in your backside than run the risk of having a progressive crowd collapse.
As a fully qualified Project anager don't ya know I have done many a risk assessment. Key factors in assessing risk are the likelihood of something occurring and the impact if it does.
Standing outside.
Likelihood of getting wet = High
Impact of getting wet = worst case you get cold.
Likelihood of getting hit by a meteorite = very low
Impact of being hit by a meteorite = instant death
Standing in a stadium
Likelihood of a progressive crowd collapse = Very low
Impact of being in a progressive crowd collapse = Multiple casualties, small risk of death
Will the club be telling fans to travel to matches in Chieftain tanks to avoid meteorites ?
Pains me to make the case for standing but common sense ain't so common.
