Spurs v AFC Bournemouth - Sunday 2 pm

Further good news is that the bottom three clubs all lost today of which is far, more important. If Luton had won it would have cut our ten point cushion down seven.
Yes that is great news. The gap to the bottom three remains as-is without us even kicking a ball. What is even better news is Efan Ekoku will co-commentate the game against Spurs on the PL feed!

AFCB Go To North London Full Of Confidence

After a good performance against Fulham on Boxing Day at Dean Court, our players are playing full of confidence and also seemed to have really gelled as a team. Someone drops out because of injury and the person who comes in as a replacement fits straight into that spot. We saw against Fulham how Alex Scott fitted into the role that Lewis Cook usually has playing alongside Ryan Christie. For his second game as a left back, Dango Ouattara had a great game and our manager has found a player normally used to playing as a winger, who now looks a natural left back and against Fulham, gave a MOM performance.

The Cherries next game is a visit on Sunday to North London to play Spurs at 2 pm. This will be a real test to see how far our side has come as Spurs seemed to have found their form again after a recent run of poor results, including four defeats and a draw. Winning their last three games, two at home, but came unstuck at Brighton on Thursday night losing 4-2. This will be the last game of the year and the half way stage of the season. Can our side come away with the points like last season?

At home since our game earlier at Dean Court, Spurs have beaten both Sheffield United and Liverpool 2-1, Fulham 2-0, their biggest home win so far, 4-1 against Newcastle United and Everton 2-1. They lost to Chelsea 1-4, both 1-2 against Aston Villa and West Ham. Away from home, they won against AFCB, Burnley (biggest win so far), Luton Town, Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest. They have drawn with Arsenal, Manchester City and lost to Wolves and Brighton.

The last time our side played Spurs away, was back in April and it was our first ever victory on their soil. Son opened the scoring for the home side, but Matias Vina equalised before half-time. Dominic Solanke put the Cherries into the lead six minutes after the break. Arnaut Danjuma our former player, who came on as a substitute equalised with two minutes of normal time, but Dango Ouattara scored a great winning goal in injury time, to make the score 2-3 and AFCB went home smiling with all three points in the bag.

In our away games against Spurs, AFCB have W 1, D 0, L 5.
All competitions, AFCB have W 3, D 2, L 9.

Spurs Team News
They have a number of injuries, James Maddison, Micky Van den Ven, James Solomon, Ivan Perisic, Ryan Sessegnon, Rodrigo Bentancur and Alfie Whiteman. Their latest injury is Christian Romero. Yves Bissouma and Dejan Kulusevski are suspended.

Spurs Player To Watch
Son Hueng Min has done a good job of filling the gap left by Harry Kane. Son has already scored 11 goals and has 4 assists. The other player is Richarlison, who has hit form and has scored 4 goals in his last four games. Pedro Porro has had 4 assists in his last 8 games.

AFCB Team News
No reports of any new injuries or players returning.

AFCB Player To Watch
Dominic Solanke has scored 8 goals in his last seven games, which includes a penalty. Dango Ouattara who has had two good games in his left back role, will possibly face Brennan Johnson, this will be another good test for our left back.

The Referee
John Brooks will be taking his third game involving AFCB this season when we play Spurs. The other two games were away at Brighton and home against Liverpool in the League Cup.
Says Simon Hooper is ref?

I just finished watching Brighton v. Spurs. Though they will be missing some key players, they have a lot of good players to run out there and may be in something of a foul humor. I'm expecting a difficult (and entertaining) match.

We're on our jolly way : )

There's still a few heavy squally showers about. Power cut at Rownhams when we picked Rob up. So no coffee but he must have had a good Christmas, he's almost in a good mood : )

Only 2 wheelchairs in each Riverside Rocket today. Richard was a late withdrawal, I think they managed to resale his match ticket but not his space on the Rocket : )

So plenty of enthusiasm and room for the 3 points we're aiming to bring back from that there London : )

Save travels, one and all : )

Morning all, who's up for a trip to the Smoke and bringing back those 3 points : )

I think you will find things have improved! ;)

Joking apart, think you may find this a good read.

The Big Smoke Settles In

The smog was so dense that residents in some sections of the city were unable to see their feet as they walked. For five days, the Great Smog paralyzed London and crippled all transportation, except for the London Underground train system.

Because of poor visibility, boat traffic on the River Thames came to a halt. Flights were grounded and trains cancelled. Even during the middle of the day, drivers turned on their headlights and hanged their heads out car windows to inch ahead through the thick gloom. Many found the effort futile and simply abandoned their cars.

Conductors holding flashlights walked in front of London’s iconic double-decker buses to guide drivers down city streets. Wheezing pedestrians groped their way around the city’s neighborhoods and tried not to slip on the greasy black ooze that coated sidewalks. By the time they returned home, their faces and nostrils blackened by the air, Londoners resembled coal miners.

It's got goals written all over it.

Both teams to score is a given.

Despite his lack of goals, Richarlson is likely to score.

Can see over 3.5 goals in this one.

Could be 4-4

Can't wait.

Re Richarlison, after watching him against Brighton, with better timing, he could have had a goal or two.

Be good if we have a repeat of this!
