He’s enjoying his moment. Like the rest of us he realises that a couple of dodgy refereeing decisions have resulted in a miscarriage of justice but when that works in your favour you may as well revel in it.
I remember Wilson laughing about his handball goal against West Ham, saying it was a little bit of magic, or words to that effect. Don't recall many people complaining about that. I'd rather something like what Cookie's put out than if he came out in support of the decision, saying they got it right.Definitely not the classy and honest guy I had him pegged as.
I can't think of any prior examples where players have come out and basically said the referee won the game for them.
I don’t mind what he’s said in the slightest. He’s highlighted that he’s been on polar opposite sides of the technology in football debate.
The difference of course being that they relied on the technology in that Aston Villa game, whilst for the penalties in the play-off was ultimately human error by the referee in the game and the VAR for not referring it to Moss.
Absolutely this .He's also wrong I believe when he says that we were relegated because of goal line technology not working. Sure, the ball went over the line for Sheffield United v Villa, but to say we wouldn't have been relegated had the correct decision been made is the same as saying Forest would have won automatic promotion if a penalty had been given against us. SU would have had a goal, but Villa may have responded to that goal. I think a more significant occurrence was the Burnley match, where VAR cancelled our equaliser and awarded Burnley a penalty when the ball had hit Smithy's shoulder. That was demoralising for the team. Also, we were relegated because we were awful for at least half of the season, which included strange selection decisions/substitutions at times, our attacking players not giving their all and mistake after mistake in midfield and defence. This included Cook himself at times, for instance, with his red card save of the season, which had a massive impact on the Norwich match. There was no one reason why we were relegated, but I believe we lost most points because we were simply not good enough. I had no grievance with relegation. It's 100% what we deserved.

True to an extent. The difference between Forest's penalty and that Sheffield United goal is that had the penalty/goal been awarded and everything else stayed the same then we would have survived. Forest would have needed a load of other things to happen to have gone up automatically.
Just let him enjoy the moment.
Was a collosus for us, and has been vindicated by being ousted when he had a lot still to give.
I'd have him in the team over Phillups for 15 million.
He was one of us.
Feel he got treated poorly in the end.
If that's their preferred starting 11 they are in for a hell of a shock next season. They really have been away from the Premier league for a long, long time.Interesting that Cookie doesn't feature in this potential line up for Forest if they can sign their summer targets
