Summer transfer rumours

£57 million? If true Al you’ll need more than a stiff drink to come to terms with that figure, and to find ways of discussing it for the next 12 months.

So £25 million for Laxalt from us and if the figure below for Everton is correct, that’s around £10.6million.

If what the Sun says proves to be true, seems Eddie is determined to get his man.

Everton from Liverpool Echo today.

There are reports coming out of Italy that Everton are lining up a bid for Genoa midfielder Diego Laxalt.

In the past the Uruguay international has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past and now it’s the Toffees who could look to bring him before next month’s deadline.

Primocanale are claiming Laxalt the Blues are lining up a bid in the region of €12m for the South American as they look to land the wide man in this transfer window.

It is weird when we're linked what happens to the fees. Lerma was meant to be getting some interest from other clubs at around £8 million then suddenly we were alleged to be bidding £18 million and now over £30 million.

I can understand that we may have to pay more in wages than another club to attract certain players who have several options open to them but surely the fee paid to the club should be at about the same level?

Of course, all of these are just speculation but still...

I don't know anything, and am sure the figures could easily be pulled out of a hat, but the logic for other clubs when dealing with us recently seems to be "reject the first offer, and demand twice that when they come back in a weeks time"

Swerve. Payday cowboys you said ;-)

One of the great lines in theatre history from "Geoffrey Bernard is unwell.",

"Payday cowboy my ar5e. Let's spend my salary on beer and hard liquor, before the wife fritters it away on shoes for the kids"

Kind of sums up how AFCB is run.

Go on admit it. You have no idea how afcb is run.

I think you secretly wish AFCB had dropped out of the football league a few years ago

both of those mentioned would be quality signings and improve us massively and really show an intent for the coming season.

I wonder if the transfer fees are reported as larger as they consist of signing on fees (spread over length of contract) allowing us to report a lower figure on wages, might help to ease dressing room disparity. Like how we bought Wilshere a house on Sandbanks, but only paid him half his Arsenal wages

most large transfers are paid over a number of years in installments and or depended on goals, appearances etc, so it could def make larger fees possible for us though as with any new and small EPL team we would have to stay up or it would all come crashing down

The issue is most clubs will let the player decide where they go as long as the valuation is met. We over bid, like we did with Ibe so the club steps in and says ‘hang on a minute...we are going to have more of a say where you go now’

Except players have freedom of contract nowadays.

REPORTS linking Cherries with a £57million double swoop for World Cup stars Jefferson Lerma and Diego Laxalt are believed to be wide of the mark by the Daily Echo.

The Sun today claimed Cherries boss Eddie Howe was “ready to take the club's spending to the next level with a whopping outlay on two players”.

It was said Cherries were “making a record £32m bid for Colombian World Cup midfielder Jefferson Lerma” and added Howe “could follow that up with a £25m swoop for Uruguay’s brilliant left-back Diego Laxalt”.

However, sources close to the Daily Echo tonight described suggestions Cherries were planning to stump up £57m for the two players as “ridiculous”.

While both Lerma and Laxalt are understood to be possible targets for Cherries, Leganes’ Diego Rico is believed to be ahead of the Uruguayan on Howe’s wish-list.

To be fair and pardon my modesty, our #afcb #EXCLUSIVE with Eddie Howe on @Bournemouthecho website is a major triumph for #localpapersalwaysfirst. And it cost us nothing! @andym_echo

SSN this morning.

Seems the price has nearly halved.

Sky sources understand Bournemouth remain in talks with Levante over the signing of midfielder Jefferson Lerma.

We are told the discussions over a £17m deal have been positive but there is still some work to do as Lerma would require a work permit.

However, personal terms are not expected to be a problem. Lerma was part of Colombia’s World Cup squad.
