New Kings Park Stadium

OK... So we're now two-thrids through January and possibly past the date of being able to sort something for next year 'regardless' of league...

Al, ages ago you posted, hinting that you knew something about the americans, their plans, and structadene...

This is not a dig, but what has happened to this news...????!??!?!??!??!?! We have heard zero on this to date and the silence is scary, and looking more and more likely that we're going to be stuck in our 11k home for the foreseeable...

Any updates at all???
Just found this post from January 2016, way back at the beginning of this thread. Really brings it home to me, zero progress in nearly 3 years.....

I have officially given up on trying to find out about the whole project.

Let's suck back to the training complex.
Land bought. No action.
Surely before purchase, all due diligence would have been taken and we could have cracked on..

Nowt.

It's a farce from start till this very day. And it continues.

I think the outcome will be related to whether they think we can or cannot break into the top 6 or 7 on a more or less permanent basis..if they are of the opinion Not ...then we ain't getting no Stadium !

Eddie will go to Dortmund or Seville, West Ham or Championship Man U and we will Head Down for Harrogate... or Salisbury with a Pit -stop and Frolic by the river at Fordingbridge, a Dust up at Downton, a quick Prematch Prayer in the Cathedral and Robert is your Dads Brother....

However..if it goes the other way and we Get our Mega-Dome with Prawn Tanks and adjacent Investment Banks...well, Madrid will quake and Milan will shake!
Another win at Chelsea could Swing it!

Don't say this very often.........but fully agree with you Al, and I'm sure every like minded fan feels the same

Utter shambles and just shows how much contempt they show us as they know they've got a captive audience..... very very frustrating and no excuse at all, pretty pathetric really. No other business would get away with it!

Structadene have been a thorn in our side for years. No surprise they continue to be. What happens when we build on the athletics track for example, does old Dean Court become an unused elephant. I'm sure if that was the case Structadene would want to flog it then but the site is hardly going to be desirable unless used for housing. Structadene are plotting their own downfall.

I think there is a reason Max, Jeff or Neil aren't coming out and saying anything. I wouldn't be surprised if negotiations are at a delicate stage and the club don't want to announce it and someone like a resident or Structadene putting a spanner in the works. I have faith the council will work with the club to get this done

Biggest frustration is we can't squeeze more fans into Dean Court temporarily. Surely if the club could expand it by another 4000 to 5000 the urgency wouldn't remain and we can make a proper job of this.

I think most of us get that and there could be certain info that can’t be made public, but to say nothing at all is just down right unprofessional.

I’m giving up any interest in it now until something official is released but have a feeling that will be a very long wait....

I see Brighton had just over 13500 and that was against Southampton, so a good turn out against league 2 side.

We've heard the delicate stage argument for years but it means nothing unless of course its over funding the damned thing which is a separate issue

The council have a clear process in place to ensure transparency from stage 1 and that includes local residents and councillors. Any local resident has a right to 'put a spanner in the works' I'm afraid. If SD have made their bed and want to lie in it then they collect the rent until the end of the lease and take up the land issue with the council.

When you ask yourself what the risk is for SD it seems they are in a pretty decent position. I'm sure David Pearl has said before that he's happy with the investment as it stands. If he just collects the rent until the end of the lease he's done well. His reversionary interest is either a football ground he can let or sell to the club or, if the club has moved on, sell for housing. Win win.

Interesting interview with Charlie on AFCBTV from which it seems very clear that nothing is going to happen this season in respect of both the training ground and stadium. The investment this season has gone on strengthening the squad.

damn it :arrghh:

...deep breath now

If it doesn't happen now surely it never will unless Max sells or has the desire to attract Investment to fund a new ground . I guess the Opalus Trust are sitting pretty

As a returning fan (now having more time being retired) I would love to go to more home games, but finding it close to impossible currently given seeming repeated early sell outs. So, of course, I'd love a bigger ground and more Sts. Isn't there a player dimension to this though? Do star players really relish playing in front of releatively small crowds? Big ambitious clubs have bigg(er) ambitious stadiums.

Yup - Charlie Daniels seems to say the money has been spent for this season and the stadium and training complex will have to wait.

So why does the club leave it to a player to leak this out on the website? They know that fans are increasingly frustrated and many are angry ... now this feeble showing.

Are the board and senior executives so weak and lacking in confidence they have to dribble out the news through playing staff? If so, it's pathetic. Or has Charlie got it wrong??

Why would a player really be aware of the finances of the club. At the end of the day despite the wages, they are the labour, not the board

I doubt even our senior pros (Franno, Chaz, Pugh, Surman, Cook) know a lot more than us about what’s going on. If he’s been told they won’t be training at Canford this season then fine I accept that, but he’s seen big money imports and assumed that’s where money has gone

Stadium isn’t an expense that you pay for with standard income, it’s a full on capex and I still believe Max wants to do that, just look at him with his mum celebrating after the Bolton game, he brought his bloody mum, he’s definitely emotionally invested

What did he say? Is it this line?
"That’s something you see at our club, we could get carried away and spend millions on everything but not take the time to improve the squad, finding the balance through the whole club has been really good."
Or something else?
