Non - Brexit

Much like Sky and Vodafone, the EU don't want us to leave either. Also if the EU were suddenly so fussed about borders you'd think they'd be either helping Spain, Italy, and Greece to secure their southern borders or penalising them for not doing so. This is nothing more than a bargaining chip being used by the EU to cause as much friction as possible, and why wouldn't they, they know what they want

Any mention of the NI border issue during the campaigning for brexit by either side. I guess it explains why NI voted to stay as it was important to them. Maybe the answer is to break up the United Kingdom and let the other countries stay in the EU as they voted to.

I watched Theresa May give her statement live yesterday on Sky.

After that it was Q & A.

What followed did our politicians no favours, with interuptions when someone was either asking or answering questions.

One time a member from I believe the SNP was talking and all you could hear was noise around him as people were talking and obviously not listening, lady sat near him signaled to the speaker who then shouted for order.

He had to call for order a number of times.

This wasn’t setting a good example for debating which I thought the House was for, they just sounded like a rabble and that was not just any particular party.

...thing is they would do better putting their collective energies and excess noise towards getting together behind this country and organising us leaving The EU...but no let's just blow wind and act like rowdy schoolkids that'll sort it!

Dear me....i don't know what's worse ....the total lack of understanding as to why there was a border....or the stereotypical anti-Irish drivel that followed it.
A poor post Bill.
I Friggin know WHY there was a border!!! I was only joking!!!
I spent 6 months guarding the Harland and Wolff dockyard in 74 when Hms Maidstone was a prison ship and later an Army temporary barracks. Went to places like Ballymena on leave to get away from Belfast. I can tell you it is one weird country when you take all things in consideration. There are some great and lovely people there. The border is nothing short of a Tragedy! I've studied the history of Ireland intensely with no prejudice to North or South.

And then ducks out of the way. Tw*t.[/QUOTE

Ducked out of the way ?? You mean apart from being on the TV and radio every five minutes , touring the country , holding the governments feet to the fire .. I get not liking him , but this whole ducked out thing is b*llockes

Wow, he went on tv. Yeah he was influential before the vote, but the current mess suggests he hasn't actually held anyones feet to the fire. He retired claiming 'job done' when it was just beginning.

Its not me talking bollox.

Your making it sound like he’s been on the Telly once . You want to suggest what he should have been doing to not have been considered to have “ducked out “ .. you know apart from constant TV , his own radio program touring the country , newspaper articles , banging on about nothing but Brexit . ducked out is what Cameron did , maybe your getting them mixed up , considering he called the referendum , not Farage , who only campaigned for it .

He could have come up with some plans/strategy for the "backstop" issue. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he didn't realise how complicated Brexit would be. None of us did.

It’s all out there on YouTube and newspaper articles Rob , it’s just which narrative you choose to watch ,listen to , he certainly hasn’t been silent on the issue ...as a side note Consevatives up in court today for illegal spending , including falsifying signatures in the election campaign to stop Farage winning south Thanet ...you think the Conservatives are going to be having anything to do with him now as far as getting out of this mess they got them self’s into?

Farage is no great shake.......he was just a fair to middling Tory Party member who got a bit bored one day and decided he wanted a slice of Publicity Pie and a swig of Celebrity Juice.
I was unhappy with the tired old Euro thing long before he started winding them up during his Large Expenses Holidays in Brussels.
So my voting position was not influenced by him...same with most others of my age( 68 today!)
I weighed up many Pros and Cons of our membership....and went for Leave, not 100% convinced but thought that around 65% against 35% was enough..... NOTHING Farage Said or Did played any part.
Had I not found enough material ( after countless hours reading/ researching and reflecting on experiences, to swing my decision, I would have voted Remain or abstained!

Fair enough. I still stand by my last sentence though. ;-)

I hope Al has his hat on and his permit in place...

Germany and France draw up no deal contingency plans

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...could-need-visa-to-visit-after-no-deal-brexit

Without emergency measures, British citizens living in France would become third-country nationals, the draft bill states, which would prevent them from holding jobs restricted to EU nationals and limit their access to healthcare and welfare.

I thought it was the evil UK government that was using people as bargaining chips (despite giving assurances on rights to remain here and work beyond brexit some time ago) surely our oh so virtuous EU neighbours are the good guys in all this and would never do such a thing.

How can any of us have any real faith in the people running the Panto or an understanding of the ongoing, stuttering events with all the Creeps and BullShi#erati abundant in both the EU and among our Politicians! It's virtually impossible!
In the end game we have to run our own individual budgets and life paths whatever the fractious outcome(s).
