Callum Wilson

Same paper, different player, but reported on SSN

NEW DEAL EN ROUTE FOR BROOKS
David Brooks will be offered a new deal at Bournemouth only half a season since joining the club from Sheffield United, according to the Daily Mail.

The paper reports the Cherries will double his salary to around £50,000 a week with the new contract offer after an impressive start to live on the south coast.

Sounds fair enough to me, signed as a player to develop, hoping he'd be knocking on the first eleven door by the end of the season. Has become one of the first names on the teamsheet almost immediately. No harm in rewarding success

Harry Kane seems like he has picked up an injury today, Son on the way back to Asia. So they need another striker, depending on Kane’s injury news.

They have been discussing this on Sky and how hard it’s to sign strikers now. Wilson’s name was mentioned as £75 million wanted for him. Jamie Redknapp said if AFCB are offered that money, our club should take it.

Can’t see Levy paying £75m and £60k a week over 5 years for a player who’ll play for a month or so until Kane and Son are back.

Of course we should take it. Geez that’s ridiculous money in anybody’s book. It’s another world this football lark isn’t it ?
Much as I love Callum and have to admit I had a short dose of hay fever when the goal went in for England, the lad has proved brittle in the past and can go missing at times as somebody else said before. It would give us a few months to really see if Mousset has got it at this level and if not we have the boy from Liverpool.

Sorry to say, but Mousset doesn't have it. Only time will tell if Solanke has it.

I actually thought, along with Ibe, Moussett made a real difference to our drive into the box today...

Ok he had a woeful performance against BHA but we judge everyone else on proper game time... Impossible for the lad to reach any kind of form with bit part appearences...

I think eddie will Persist with him...

Unless I missed something... I read just yesterday that there is a 15% sell-on with Coventry for Wilson...? This is news to me and might explain another side to why we're slapping such a a mahooosive price tag on Wilson...

£50m is still a staggering amount, but if you take that it will prob be broken down with instalments and add ons, and then minus 15%... You're not actually left with much to replace him with (in today's market).

Cov forums are banding £70/£75 million around as well as the 15% sell on. I think they're living in hope.

There local paper had an article a few months ago saying they had 10-15% of any profit AFCB make on the transfer. There were no sources quoted and it did seem like speculation rather than anything concrete
