AFCB v West Ham

No real test today. A bit nervy in the second half but seemed to settle back in. He doesn't play from the back like begovich does, far more hoofing so I wonder if it was a tactical thing. That said they really didn't press us high so no idea why Eddie made the change.

He made the change because Begovic was woeful last week and hasn’t exactly been overly impressive all season.

As for distribution, it’s not Boruc best asset, but one plus is he’s a lot quicker than Begovic.

I think most keepers get shown up at this level.. Pickford looked shaky last week. I don't agree with your Begovic season long analysis . I think after the recent run of fixtures the team have been under the cosh. Eddie will argue a clean sheet is a clean sheet and it was the worth the call but we all know Boruc isn't the long term answer. How does a keeper get back in form by being dropped ?

We have a few difficult fixtures in the next 6..but Cardiff away and Wolves home among them..4 points at least from them and maybe 1 from Chelsea or MC at home? ..brings up 35. but then an average to easy run in of 9 games with the long awaited bonus 3 points v Spurs.which would yield about 15 + further points giving 50 or plus ? ..so basically anything between 7th and 12th is likely!
I'm guessing 9th or 10th barring no more telling injuries!
That's exactly where I am, Bill. Get to 35 points by March 9 and then let the real fun begin. Today was huge in that regard, could prove to be a foundation for the rest of the season.

Best way I can analyse it is with Boruc you’ll get random 9/10 performances and 4/10 performances at any moment.

With Begovic, last season he’d often be a standard 7, you would rarely get a 5 let alone a 4, but equally you didn’t get 9’s either.

This season Begovic has been a standard 6, a couple of good games but a fair few 5’s.

His standard for whatever reason has dropped and last week, other than taking goal kicks he was as much of a spectator as you or I. He watched every cross from 3 yards off his line, whizz past and made no attempts at being an actual goalkeeper.

There’s also the stat about most goals conceded from goals on target, which doesn’t cover him in glory.

It was time to take him out of the firing line.

Howe has always been ruthless with his ‘keepers.

hope this link works but for those who have not seen the goals

Thank you for that. The only downside of the whole day (and believe me not much of a downside) is both goals happened at the other end of me and I couldn’t really see.

I thought brooks had that header at the start in my end.

Btw what was the call that disallowed ake’s goal?

Oh one more ? At like the 30th minute or so everyone in the stadium clapped for a full minute. What is that for?

O

Oh my glad I clapped. What a fantastic club and wonderful fan base. I count myself unbelievably fortunate that I chose afcb.

All the best to his family and so wonderful he had his third child. And his son has the same name as mine. Strong name it is...Dylan.

Have I missed why you chose AFCB, was it for any particular reason or just random?

Fairly random. When my wife’s friends (all European) got me into “soccer” and I started watching premier league and became a huge Carlos tevez fan so followed west ham. Then followed him to city. When he went to United I couldn’t follow him lol

So looked for a team and Bournemouth had gotten promoted. I read the stories about the unbelievable rise from league two and everything about Eddie Howe his style on the pitch and management style and knew I found the kind of team I could fall in love with.

How fortunate am I?

Can't you call it "football" instead of "soccer" that will impress your wife's Euro friends.
