Dan Gosling

The thing with Gosling is he gives 110% every game, covers every blade of grass but he’s behind Cook, Lerma and Wilshere in the middle. But I can’t see us letting Billing, Oforborh and Gosling go as there have been links to all of them this past week

I think Eddie once said that if he was climbing Everest he'd want Dan alongside him....pretty much sums him up....fantastic character and a fantastic player for us but these box to box midfielders don't last long unless they can adapt their game to a deeper role....don't think Dan has that in his locker tbh.

Brian is going to have; a Wazdown!!
. ...
Well yeah.....but I realise he won't be here forever.
He has limitations...but no more than most of the others.....
...how many games do we win with Lerma and L.Cook on the team...in comparison ?
And they make as many mistakes with losing the ball for example !
Why always Dan the scapegoat...thats what I found hard to accept ....he even got it the neck in games when Fraser was in 5th gear!

Dan moving on might be best for him at his stage....his age, and needing a different challenge.
At least he got some matchwinners by having a go...he even did in a Mersey derby once!

I'd be sorry to see Dan go if he does.

At least when he's playing we know he'd give 100% and not some of the half hearted attempts we had last time Vs Derby from his team mates.

He's been a good servant for the club, caused no trouble as far as I'm aware and been a model professional.

Shame the Sherpa Van Trophy isn’t still in existence...

This move was rumoured last week. It would make sense to move one of the CMs on if we're bringing Pearson in and Gosling does appear to be fourth choice of the PL four and is out of contract in the summer.

I'll be sad to see Gosling go, if he does leave. Another one of the legends who helped us to achieve the dream. He was always upbeat and motivation never seemed to be a problem with him.

I suppose he wants to end his career playing as many games as possible. If he has more chance of playing at Forest than here, then I wouldn't blame him at all for wanting to give it a try. He would leave with my thanks and best wishes.

Would be sad to see him go but perhaps a good move for him to get things going again... Not sure if he's injured or not but Arter does not seem to be playing much up there, and knockheart never seems to be off the bench... Seems they have midfield issues...

If we can flog him and Simpson to make way for the Preston pair then it sounds like a decent trade off... (Not that I really know anything other than what Ive read on here about the PNE lads)...

That spirited box to box dymanism is what the formation would need in the middle if we're going to have L Cook at the base and Wilshere at the peak of a midfield three.

Billing or Gosling should be able to provide it but, for one reason or another, it hasn't quite happened so maybe a fresh face can do it, or spur Billing to make the position his.

One of my favourite palyers of recent times is Dan Gosling...he has just got on with his job when called upon and a player who Eddie Howe pinned much faith in..I will be sorry to see him go but he deserves to be playing matches and midfield is a position we seem to have plenty of choices with now especially as Jack Wilshere is with us...
If we did lose Billing and Brooks though it would be different, given Lerma's consistency with yellow cards and suspensions, coupled with Stan out for a while then we could be light without recruiting another player?
