Scott Parker

From memory Eddie and Mark Robbins started their managerial careers in the same season. Robbins managed to keep Rotherham up easily despite a 17 points deduction. He then departed soon after to an ambitious Champo' club, didn't have much success and has been travelling around the Leagues ever since. He was Huddersfield manager for the first match of our Championeee season, he didn't last long after that 1-4 home defeat, as Rob says, fans were calling for his head within minutes of the season starting. Has he ever got a team promoted out of the Champio'?

Not saying I think one's better/worse than the other, neither's managed this club, so I haven't payed much attention to them. Whoever get's the job, I want them to be the most successful manager of this club, ever. Chances are, they might not be but unless/until they start stinking the place out I'll try and give them the benefit of the doubt : )

Why Parker..why the Hype...why not other names being considered by the Forum.elitists ...from thousands of ex - footballers....that's all Parker is...same ..so why him specifically! I don't get the sheeplike polarisation towards this bloke ... on these pages !

We have a manager already...he hasn't been sacked... that we are aware of !
and he played for Real Madrid...Parker for Fulham...I mean Christ Almighty..know what I mean!...It beggars belief that fans can just write JW off after less than half a season!

Think people are writing off JW on the basis of 4 defeats from last 5 games he managed rather than the half a season. No different to JT

With this bunch of nomcom players...the chances are that if 3 or 4 of them don't get the transfers they were hoping for and are stuck at DC until at least January...that a new manager might lose say 6 of the 1st 10, draw 3 and win only 1...what then ...another sacking and draft in another Hyped Messiah to face the same problem ?

Couple of things here. JW was given a contact until the end of June, he doesn’t need to be sacked. He was clearly only ever seen as a short term option. Also you have intentionally picked out the most glamorous club Woodgate played for (he had very limited appearances for Madrid btw) and the least glamorous club that Parker played for to suit your argument. You could just as easily say that Parker played for Chelsea and Woodgate for Middlesbrough!

In a strange turn of events Parker is expected to take over at Fulham's soon-to-be Championship promotion rivals Bournemouth, who will not extend Jonathan Woodgate's time in the dugout on the south coast after he failed to guide the Cherries back to the Premier League having taken over in February.

There are already plans in place for Parker's succession. 90min understands that Fulham have compiled a shortlist of potential replacements, with Swansea City boss Steve Cooper and Barnsley's Valerien Ismael both being considered.

Each manager guided their unfancied teams into the playoffs last season and could be tempted by the Cottagers' superior budget. However, both have also been linked with the Crystal Palace job, which remains vacant after negotiations with Nuno Espirito Santo collapsed.

Don’t sack JT then. He wanted to shift a couple of the problem players and bring in likes of ccv, ritchie and Pearson to strengthen the team . Doesn’t sound like a bad plan

Yeah that's right..I just said what it suited Me to say...and its STILL not been indicated that JW has Gone. and contract not renewed !!!
I don't necessarily produce an ' argument ' as such....I just gob off.
Things just happen...and you turn out right or wrong...or partly both!

Playing for a big club doesn't guarantee success as a manager. Look at gazza, Rooney etc.

Sheep like doesn't do you any favours either. People have a different opinion to you, that's all.

Parkers record is decent as a manager. Question marks around style of play from some but others saying he tries to play decent football. he's young and already proven he can get a side promoted. I'd hope he can learn and build on his recent experience.

Robins would be a far more depressing appointment. Almost turned into a lower champ/league 1 journeyman.

Also, wouldn't surprise me if the board were thinking of getting Parker last summer, regardless if relegated or not .as Fulham got up via the playoffs, that put an end to it at the point.

Do you actually read…..these pages?

There is widespread polarisation about Parker, with very few actually championing him. Several posters are really unhappy with the appointment whilst many are just accepting that it’s likely to happen given the club’s long-term targeting of SP and will hope for the best whilst giving manager and team full support.

In other words, a range of viewpoints.

Your obsession with hype and so-called elitism means that you ignore what’s happening.

Give me one example of Parker being hyped up on here.

Blimey..you are one serious mofo...at 0540 in the morning !
I didn't even mention Robins...not sure I've even heard of him.
Of course your right about Rooney/Gazza etc....but I'd like to think that our Vision can extend.. and sight a few more options as well as Parker!
Howe had Zero experience...so basically a lot what happens is down to circumstance other than what's on a players CV.
I'm kind of hoping now, to Hell with mine or anyone else's opinion...that if JW is moved on...then we actually get some dude none of us has heard of !

How the ' ' ' k do we know the club is targeting Parker if they don't communicate with the fans...its the fans as I see it pushing for him...on here...on posts!!!
The club is acting all Kremlin and MI5..and on that basis ..if they don't open up then I don't really give a ' ' ' k who we get now !

You should have seen me at 4 when I woke up, before caffeine;)

Robins wasn't aimed at you, topfarrier suggested him.

I imagine the club have looked at others, none of names mentioned 'seem' better prospects or fits as Parker.

I agree re howe but we're in a totally different place now, and the chances of pulling another howe out the bag are unlikely imo. We already tried something similar with tindall after all.

You really do spout ****************! Parker is being discussed because this thread is about him and he’s currently in the running. And if you read the posts there are other names being talked about.
