I found the whole betting on Forest saga quite revolting and i've had as many arguments with Waz as anybody else on here but it never got personal......some of the responses to his posts by certain individuals were way over the top and they are as much to blame for all the distasteful squabbling as he was......at the end of the day he's just giving his opinion....you don't have to react or agree with them.....we're supposed to be adults.

The prick deserved everything he got.
 
Back to Travers….. and status quo… today must be one of the most times their songs have been sang since 1977. Even a pissed Christmas office do only manages it three times…

I totally disagree.

People from time to time will post some brilliant stuff on here or other media about male mental health and everyone will agree which is fantastic. Then some people seem to magically forget about this, the herd mentality kicks in and a group humiliation happens.

I will never agree with piling on any poster. Posting all the stuff they got wrong but never the stuff they got right or the stuff the people posting it get wrong. Take someone on in strong debate and banter one on one… that’s fine. Ganging up? Not for me.

It’s a really shitty thing to do to someone with a minority view.

I agree to a degree but when said poster repeatedly calls me delusional for my views that’s ok is it? E.g. ‘if you think we will reach anywhere near 90 points this season or we will beat Nottingham Forest you are delusional and you want to get your head checked?’

Anyone that didn’t bet on Notts Forest to finish 2nd was an idiot and the bookmakers have missed a trick…..

As you’ve said it’s a forum for differing views, there’s a way to go about getting those views across and if you go about it in the way certain posters did - hijacking every thread and repeating it time and time again then I see no reason why it can’t be bought up.

You’re seeing one side of the problem. Who’s to say calling me delusional or a head case wouldn’t affect my mental health…it doesn’t but that’s not the point

No, he wasn't just "giving his opinion". That makes it sound oh so reasonable.

During that whole sorry Forest bet saga, he was gleefully celebrating every Forest victory and predicting our failure, and going on and on about it, every bloody day for weeks on end. He was rubbing his hands in anticipation of his £4000 payout and endlessly bigging himself up about what a great punter he was and what mugs we all were.

Utterly tasteless behaviour.

Well I’m very surprised that you disagree that people should be responsible and accountable for their own actions.

Which brings me to Waz. This isn’t about whether what he posts is right or wrong in the literal sense. It’s about behaviour, this by way of a level of arrogance, obnoxiousness, rudeness and hypocrisy that accompanies many of his posts.

In many parts of society this is neither accepted nor tolerated, and this place is no different. Waz has a choice in terms of how he behaves, and others on here also have a choice in the way they react and respond to such behaviour. As I said at the start, it’s about self responsibility and accountability, as is the case in life.

if he'd had the intelligence to show an ounce of humility just once, perhaps, but he didn't so tough shite, he deserves all he gets
and will continue to do so into next season if he continues in the same negative vein

There were heaps of posts suggesting Travers was not up to it pre season. You only have to look back at posts from last July to see the extent of it. I only picked this one as Mr Waz seems to be flavour of the moment. Dawson has a point about herd mentality and I’m subconsciously guilty as charged I guess.
 
I must admit I had big concerns about Travers being our #1 at the start of the season. But man oh man he is a beast. How is he third choice for the Republic of Ireland? And to top it off, he’s a fucking handsome lad? Keepers have longevity and he is only going to get better.
