Scott Parker

This bit stands out to me

"Be brave in our moments, manage the game at times as well. Understand at times that we're going to have to go long and that's not a problem at all if their press is right"

After watching the WBA away game, I am guessing that the highlighted part was worked on. Either added to the "system" or coached into the team, or both.
Also think that another watershed moment was that during our mini slump a big change was made in that a lot of our play started and went through Kelly. I remarked to the guy who I go to games with that our play from the back had changed to going equally through Phillips even if it meant that we were more direct in the last 6 or 7 games.

Well, that's a side of Scott Parker that I never knew existed. Bloody marvellous stuff. Reminded me of this classic scene from "The Damned United".

Different style, same effect !

Yes, but he was manager of Bournemouth v Forest - and he got them up didn't he?
He must have something about him as a manager, whether we at Fulham dislike him or not, though he got us two promotions.

Interesting to see this, anyway.

We don’t really know the ins and outs of what happened at Fulham re Parker and those running the club, but I wonder if the Fulham fans do either.

Whatever their fans think of Scott Parker, the history books will show he has again got a football club promoted up into the top league in a very short time in management.

The records will also show against his old club Parker has only finished 2 points behind them in the table out of a possible 138 points available over 46 games.

In fairness if we are to balance this out, they will also show that he managed a side in the top flight which only managed to score nine goals at home in an entire season.

I think the thing to remember with Parker is that he is a young coach who is still developing his philosophy and way of playing. We’ve seen first hand that it can be very good when it comes together, it can also be pretty frustrating to watch when it isn’t quite clicking.

We may struggle next season but on the other hand Parker may have learnt from his Fulham experience in the top flight and make adjustments to his approach, we just don’t know. I think it would be foolish to rule it out completely like Fulham fans are though. He did after all perform better here in the Championship than with Fulham, arguably with a marginally weaker squad too.

Wow that was some half time team talk.
My only question is where were half time team talks on a par with that in a lot of our turgid games before when we seemed to turn the corner away at Huddersfield?

IMO Parker doesn't have to come out and explain himself or open up to the fans. We've had a brilliant season from the opening game against WBA.
I loved the interview after the Norwich game, the integrity and appreciation of the great fans, who stayed behind and clapped after the 6-0 defeat (I wasn't there, but fair play to those that were).

And let's also not forget that in the first 3/4 games this season Parker could hardly make a substitution because of injuries & having a bench filled up of the U'7s.

But I bet the select few on here will.
