ST’s - average 9.7% increase

This piece in the Echo story from Jim Frevola.

“In addition, the women's team will see considerable development in the coming seasons. Next year they will play two home matches at Vitality Stadium.

“We are bundling these matches on top of our season ticket packages as we want you to support all our teams.

“This incremental fee of £5-£7 per match, based on seat type, will be added to your season ticket payments.

“I hope you share my excitement about what we are building.

What's it got to do with Frevola? It was Blake's idea. Neil Dawson said so.

If you can’t pin income strategy on a CEO what exactly can you? This would have been a full board decision, or did you think it was the kid that does 28 hours a week in the ticket office with a calculator? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Of course it's Blake's decision Neil. No increase for eight years then Foley shows up and puts his own President of Business Operations in and Blake suddenly decides he wants to do this.

Can you not see how warped you've allowed your logic and judgement to become due to your dislike of one bloke? It's crazy.

Well, it was frozen for 8 years, but you weren't busy pinning it on the CEO then.

And I'm not a fan of the way its been done, but I realise we've been quite lucky in those 8 years.

They've had that 'free' PR for eight years. How long do you think a price freeze should go on for? It's millions over that period btw.
Should’ve definitely been this year due to:
1) New “wealthier owners taking the 300k hit
2) The current cost of living crisis
3) Drop in the ocean that this increase has on professional clubs
4) The last 2/3 performances and losing £2m per place

Agreed it can’t just “go on”, but what logical reason is there for grabbing 300k off fans when a club has an income of £120m?

It’s 0.0025% extra income for the club in a time when money is tightest for fans

So they should subsidise you to watch football?

If I'm cynical because it's part of a longer term vision. They'll have a target price in mind for tickets for the new stadium but they can't jump up there in one season so will have to step it up over several seasons so that by the time the new stadium arrives the hike won't be so big.

At the same time...

People want the signings.
People want the facilities.
People want the top two tier football.
Yet people don't want to pay the first ticket price increase for nearly a decade.

On its own, the amount might be a small part of our revenue but when you add it together with all the other ways they're trying to increase the turnover then it makes a difference.

Foley said in his interview that he's asked Frevola to sort out the advertising charges for longer-term 'partners'. That's easier to boast about in the press than ST prices but the general theme seems to be to maximise all revenue streams and ST holders are clearly seen as no different.

I suppose if you were hellbent on criticising the people who have been making these decisions for the past eight years (who would do such a thing ;)) you could ask why people have been allowed to pay less than the market rate for so long but clearly they valued that 'free' PR.

Interesting one this. This is the first season I’ve questioned whether I can justify a season ticket with eye watering changes to my mortgage kicking in next month, or rather I take a punt on doing games as and when. Wonder how many have thought the same.

I'll be honest....with cutting back as a family due to increasing costs and changing job to try to make up some of the difference, I am also trying to justify the cost( regardless of the rise) when I am cutting costs in other areas.

I know I probably will renew but its the first year I have been thinking about it.

I’ll probably end up renewing too with the justification that I’ll only do a couple of away games next season!

Wtf is going on here? All this time to get it sorted and they've come up with this shitshow. It's like AFCB have asked Ryanair to come up with a pricing model.

Need to change the tread title because it isn't 9.7% at all is it. I absolutely hate companies that try and treat their customers like morons.
If you don't like it shove off. find something else to do, the club is trying to get supporters behind the womens team. its all part of the wider picture. LOL.
You can always give your tickets to the weaker sex of your family.

No however increasing income by 0.0025% in this way seems abit off to me.

Oh well, modern football and all teams do it!

It is tricky, and like others have pointed out it's going to mean people will have to make tough decisions.

That said you can see it from Foley's point of view. If he's going to dig deep into his pockets to find players and new infrastructure then he's going to expect others to pay their fair share no matter how small a portion of the overall budget it is. You wouldn't have any sympathy for Dave Wells Properties if they argumed that they shouldn't pay more for their ad space because it's small beer in the total budget.

Not surprised you've taken the women-hating angle as you always do. The issue isn't the women's game, which I've been to watch and quite enjoy, it's the duplicitous Ryanair style pricing structure. They should just price things honestly without trying to trick customers into believing they are getting a better deal than they are.

Pay up or shut up, easy really.
Here we go.
Just stirring him up as I know how he would answer.
