Lewis Cook

It’s a position you can’t really use any other player for, we regularly take 3 keepers to games. I wouldn’t imagine taking 3 to the World Cup is compulsory but it’s common sense.

North Korea tried to register an outfield player as their 3rd goalkeeper for the last world cup, but they were found out, and said player was only allowed to participate as a goalkeeper.

They should have asked to play with a “ rush goalie “ instead;)

...selfishly I would rather Lewis stayed here at the risk of him actually getting some gametime out there and then being 'nicked' by another club at the end of it all!

He will be a big player for us next season IMO

Rule changed after Niall Quinn was named as a keeper in Ireland's 1990 squad, so they only took Bonner and Peyton who would actually play in goal

Ridiculous reason- you out your best side out for a game to climb the table?
Bugger the World Cup - it's only 4 games max! He won't play -is the likelyhood!

Or it's the Sun. He's had a good season we want to reward him for that now that he's a first team regular. The liverpoo contact is spurious, at the time they were watching him at Leeds they also paid Derby for a two year first refusal offer on Will Hughes, so that means very little. It was part of the Wisodm and Ibe loan moves

FFS- Contracts mean nothing- he could sign a 10 yr one today- then tomorrow a money cloud from Man U or Liverpool rains on it and he is on his way- come on!
