Watching the cross country mountain biking. What a race from that young lad. What a demanding sport. Over an hour of unpredictable hills and surfaces. Each lap the course getting more cut up. What stamina to win gold!

What a sport. Loved it. Really hardcore off road action. Best new Olympic sport this year by a winning mile.
 
Georgia Taylor-Brown wins silver medal for GB in triathlon.

The Bermuda athlete won the gold.

Taylor-Brown rode with a flat tyre over the last lap on the bike ride where she finished fifth.
 
Very decent bronze in the gymnastics- particularly as there has been a lot of controversy about the selection policy.

Amazing performance from Georgia Taylor-Brown to recover her position from way back in sixth place after her puncture...the winner from Bermuda was sheer class though tbf

In 2020, the CAS sanctioned Russia due to several doping violations, banning it from all major sporting events for two years (a reduction from the four years ban established in 2019 by the World Anti-Doping Agency).

Sorry to resurrect this neglected post but that is typical Olympic wetness at it's prime.

The punishment for widespread, state sponsored doping is adding "Olympic committee" at the end of your country name and not use your flag or anthem for two years.

Basically the same punishment Taiwan has had since 1976 but their only crime is being an independent nation.
