Who Will Be Next England Manager?

northstandmark - 14/7/2016 12:04

Howe is clearly the best choice.

But thank f**k the FA are too stupid to see it.

England's loss is to our huge, huge gain.

Wasn't it mentioned about Harry being Eddie's mentor the other day? No mention of Harry later, still not the correct person in the eyes of the FA?

But could it be they may want Allardyce to bring in a young assistant to learn the ropes? That could be a worry for us.

The next manager should be young(er), have an ability and experience of dealing with high profile players and above all, he should be English.

So, what’s Ryan Giggs doing these days?

Will Burnley be looking for a new manager?

The Football Association will interview Jurgen Klinsmann for the England manager’s job and are seriously considering him as a successor to Roy Hodgson, though the Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce remains the front runner to get the position he was denied ten years ago.

With the governing body being accused by Sunderland on Wednesday of ‘damaging’ their pre-season preparations and urged to “bring about a swift resolution to this matter,” it is thought Klinsmann may be interviewed in the next 48 hours.

But there was a growing sense that Allardyce is the FA’s man, with his Wearside employers already placing Burnley’s Sean Dyche on their contingency list of possible successors if the 61-year-old is handed the national post.

Conversation with shopkeeper.

Shopkeeper: ‘Well, if Allardyce get’s the England job, I’m not watching England’.

Me: ‘He’s good at relegation battles’.

Shopkeeper: ‘Yes, but we are not in a relegation battle, England are below that’.

Hull confirm that Steve Bruce has held initial talks too.

Am surprised they heard what he had to say above the sound of a barrel being scraped.

Seem to think the new manager will be announced on Thursday and it will be Allardyce.

So when did they speak to Eddie ? Says in the reports that he has been spoken to.

I see the vote is it too early for Eddie is 50/50 at the bottom of the story.

Eddie Howe is seen as one of the brightest young English managers, but the national job "would ruin" the Cherries boss according to Chris Sutton.

The 38-year-old's reputation is growing fast after comfortably keeping Bournemouth in the Premier League last season.

But former England international Chris Sutton has dismissed Howe as a successor to Roy Hodgson.

"Not Eddie Howe. I think that would ruin him this early [in his career]," the former Chelsea hit man told BBC 5 live.

Fingers crossed then. I think we'd all secretly be mad proud if he did get the job but at the same time, we all know it's too soon for him and so does he, it seems. But it's been good to see a manager of ours spoken of in such terms.

I'd actually be quite happy with Allardyce or Bruce, strangely. I know neither are known for beautiful football but for one thing, I can see both being able to install a sense of pride in all players to wear the shirt [ as you know both will be bursting with pride to have the job ]. And maybe they can both give us good football to watch if they are working with better players [ in theory ], than they've been able to use at club level. I'd rather either of these over someone like Klinsmann to be honest.

Why is it successive England managers who have good records hence their appointments, have failed?

Maybe it is not just the players and manager.

Think you are on to something there billy but that would expose the prem league as not being as good as hyped up.

As for Bruce, I am surprised by him speaking so openly about how he would like the role given Sam is clear favourite and should he not get it I wonder how hull fans and owners would feel about him.

"Southampton politely approached me and asked if they could speak to Eddie," Mitchell told Sky Sports.
"Eddie went for an interview at the club - this morning [Thursday], he was offered the job, which he declined."

I would be very surprised if Howe has made a final decision before speaking to the FA. Don't want him to go, there are a million reasons to stay but what ever Eddie does past AFCB is going to be tricky to get the same success and admiration. How often will the England job come calling? How long will he be this red hot commodity that he is now?
Then again it might not be something he aspires to, many wouldn't care.

I hope he will go for a chat ala Saints and Palace and politely ask that he is kept in mind for the future but not right now.

Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce will be confirmed as England manager in the next 24 hours, Sky sources understand.

Sky Sports News understands that Allardyce will be ratified as Roy Hodgson's replacement at Thursday's FA Board Meeting.
