Another day, another dodgy decision for the top six

I think the constant fouling stops us playing the old way though. The number of times a late tackle puts a player on the deck so a one-two can’t happem is ridiculous. Saw the impact of constant fouling vs arsenal and man Utd in particular this season.
And Soton and Watford. Is this becoming a strategy to disrupt us? Hadn't figured it before, but now that you point it out ..... Managers learn from other managers' success.

Personally think it is a deliberate ploy as teams know which referees are soft on fouling. Think wee man in particular gets little protection.

Can’t remember the ref we had vs Cardiff on opening day but he dished out a very early yellow and he has been one of the few to do that: Cardiff are a physical team but knew he meant business. Worst culprits were Man Utd - just watch how much grappling they did.

Sadly VAR won’t resolve this. Ironically I now regard mike dean as one of the better prem refs as he has the balls to pick up on it.

Most teams are continually "fouling early" against us. Today there could have been 2 or 3 yellow cards before Taylor actually booked the first. Everton didn't let us break, just as several teams haven't. Wolves did it, Chelsea did it, Watford did it.

And teams are going out of their way to try to rough up Brooks and Wee Man.

As Jenas said on MOTD2, its time we started to get in teh face of referees, and for Eddie and Jason to call it out, to the 4th official or after the game.

After the years of despising Fergie’s Manure for precisely this tactic I’ll feel a bit hypocritical supporting us down this road. By all means criticise after the game though but nothing will ever change I’m afraid.

I doubt Tindall is stood next to the fourth official discussing Brexit, of course he’s pointing it out at the time. :)

...no amount of moaning will change the terrible standards of refereeing sometimes, VAR might, but I do feel that some retrospective punishments should be stepped up against players who constantly cheat and get away with so much. If that had been the case then Gomez would be an interesting investigation?
However in the real world we just have to put up with it...at the end of the day referees don't score goals or defend better...that is down to the team!

The pgmol is where the buck stops for the performance of officials, time to hold it to account and withhold match fees for its members.

Managers and players who consistently under perform lose their job.

He bottled it and we all know it. I listened on the radio first half and second half watched on TV. So many decisions went against us and even some braver pundits did at least say that Gomes was lucky to be still on the field. Just as in the Man U game when Youngs should have been sent off for a 2 footed off the ground scything tackle. So yesterday was another case of bad luck caused by bad reffing.

Games turn on a sixpence (for those of you old enough to remember a 6d :p ) and but for the woodwork, and bad reffing, that game would have ended up with us taking all the points. Everton would have been chasing us. We were all over them for the first 25-30 mins. It's all about psychology and confidence... and good reffing. So yes, I think he should be held accountable. He gets paid for it and he's let football down.

After all the woes and predictions over the last few games, particularly by a resurrected poster, it's great that Jeff Lerma didn't pick up a booking. I think there was only one tackle where he got close in tackling and I feared that ref may have given a yellow there, but thankfully he didn't !

He's been a massive bright spot this season, and he's stil progressing and developing. Great to see and I'm growing to love the bloke. A proper midfielder.

And if we're being objective, he should have!

do PL games get reviewed to identify and punish all the bits missed by officials?
not that it makes any difference to us but the thug who grabbed lerma round the neck would surely be facing a three match ban?
