We don’t appear to be talking to anyone who comes with a fully assembled coaching staff to drop in place?

Sounds from the reports of his time at Nice like Vieira would need some support on developing tactics anyway. So if he's a potential front man for the club, needing someone paired up with him, perhaps Woodgate could be that man. Unsure where Purches fits into this as well of course.

Pretty sure Woodgate will remain involved whoever comes in.
He is only on contract until the end of the season anyway and the new incumbent will surely need a lot of help to get up to speed quickly.
If we then extend Woodgate's contract beyond the summer ( assuming the new manager likes what he offers ) then MAYBE Purches can be reassigned back to the U21s ? I could imagine something like that happening.

Yes the same as you, one out of three good performances against a Burnley side that rested players. Imo he needed a good performance from this game to be seriously considered, he didn't get that.

Haha fans are so funny after Tuesday he was a world beater, draw a game and he's now the worst manager to grace Dean Court.

Because he's taken a team from relegation form back to not getting embarrassingly beaten week after week.

Is Woodgate the answer? Who knows, but he has at least got some points on the board.

Let’s not go overboard either way. He is only a stop gap. He’s done pretty well in the circumstances, stabilising a ship that was quickly sinking. But we can’t go down the ‘inexperienced’ route again.
