We don’t appear to be talking to anyone who comes with a fully assembled coaching staff to drop in place?
Sounds from the reports of his time at Nice like Vieira would need some support on developing tactics anyway. So if he's a potential front man for the club, needing someone paired up with him, perhaps Woodgate could be that man. Unsure where Purches fits into this as well of course.

Pretty sure Woodgate will remain involved whoever comes in.
He is only on contract until the end of the season anyway and the new incumbent will surely need a lot of help to get up to speed quickly.
If we then extend Woodgate's contract beyond the summer ( assuming the new manager likes what he offers ) then MAYBE Purches can be reassigned back to the U21s ? I could imagine something like that happening.

Thankful this snapped me out of thinking woodgate was a good idea. We need a manager who can attack. Any manager..
Yes the same as you, one out of three good performances against a Burnley side that rested players. Imo he needed a good performance from this game to be seriously considered, he didn't get that.

Who at the club thought he was a good coach and could change his ways after the Middlesbrough debacle , maybe its them that need moving on?
