Harry Wilson

But who are you saying is ahead of him? Ibe has never understood our patterns of play, Danjuma has been here five minutes longer, Kilkenny is just a kid (I'd like to see him get the nod personally) ... It's hardly ridiculous if he gets the nod is it?
Danjuma has had a week and actually played in a game with his team mates, he will have received feedback from EH about what he wants from him comparative to that performance. This makes a big difference.

Not ridiculous to me, but I can imagine a lot of fans wondering why there's "some Irish lad" on and 55M on the bench in Wilson, Dangermouse, and Ibe on the bench

And Kilkenny has also had a full pre season and shown that he understands very well the system we want to play and for that reason I would also like to see him get the nod.

Sure you could see why the others might be ahead of Wilson but it's hardly a foregone conclusion or 'ridiculous' if he does get the nod. Considering our injuries it's not a bad situation to be in.

Everywhere that Wilson is mentioned in the press, TV, internet, etc., it is as a 'winger'. However, whenever I have seen him play, admittedly not a lot, he appears to play more in the middle. Can anybody enlighten me please?

Nope not a bad situation at all, it’s good to have options. I stand by it though, it would be the wrong decision to throw him straight into the 11. And I have every faith that Eddie will be thinking the same.

He’s a left footer that plays on the right so often comes central from the flank. He has played cm for Wales a couple of times though. He is less of a winger and more of an inside forward. Rocket of a shot and a good eye for a pass.

Think Matt Ritchie with a bit more pace and the ability to dribble. He is a free kick specialist too. Have no doubt he will prove to be a success for us, just hope we can get him permanently at the end of the loan!

Welcome aboard. Let's hope he absolutely storms it for us.

Of course, we're now slated to lose three wingers at the end of the season so I expect there will be lots more winger speculation come January. How is Demarai Gray getting along these days?

I went to Wales v Slovakia in March in Cardiff. First half Wales played 4411 with Bale up top, Brooks as number 10 and Dan James and Harry Wilson wide left and right respectively. Wales started with a very high tempo and it was a lot like watching AFCB.

Second half Giggs changed it around, essentially pushing Brooks out to the right with Wilson dropping into a more withdrawn role alongside Joe Allen in CM. Dan James played a bit deeper as well, with Bale basically playing where he wanted up top.

I can’t pretend that I recall exactly how well Wilson played individually but, as a unit, the Welsh midfield provided an effective screen in front of the back four to stifle Slovakia, with some tasty counter attacks.
