The 22-year-old Spaniard, who came up through the youth ranks at Barcelona, has agreed a five-year deal with the Hornets.

We paid £20 million which is a record amount for our club for Nathan Ake.

Reading this, is this player from the Championship worth £22 million?

Seems to me transfer figures have gone crazy.

Southampton and Leicester have both agreed a fee with Norwichto sign James Maddison, according to Sky sources.

The two Premier League clubs have had proposals in the region of £22m plus add-ons accepted by the Canaries.

One source has told Sky Sports News that Maddison prefers Southampton but he is still to decide which club he will join.

Maddison is from the Midlands, however, having signed from hometown-club Coventry in 2016, and this may work in Leicester's favour.

I think being from the Midlands was definitely not the reason, after all that means he already knows what a hole Leicester is. He probabky also fancies Saints to go one better than last year and fall out of the Prem, or he saw next seasons shirts and thought bugger that

PALACE TO HAND ZAHA NEW DEAL

Crystal Palace have offered Wilfried Zaha a bumper new deal on more than £120,000 per week, according to the Mirror.

The 25-year-old is currently contracted to the Eagles until the summer of 2022.

Some deal if they get away with it.

The moment Wolverhampton Wanderers announced the signing of Rui Patricio, their social media accounts were besieged by angry fans of his former club.

Many Sporting CP supporters are furious at the way Patricio's transfer to Molineux has unfolded.

Wolves originally lodged a bid, believed to be in the region of £18 million, which was rejected by the Portuguese club earlier this summer.

But Patricio successfully extricated himself from his contract after being among a group of players abused by Sporting CP fans and subsequently joined Wolves on a free transfer yesterday.

This won’t be the end of it. Can see a court ruling Sporting will be entitled to compensation at a later date. I’m sure Wolves are aware of the risks too

Wolves are gambling that they will only need to pay a compensation sum at a later date which is less than the 18m euro they'd valued the player at recently. Could take months to be ruled on anyway.

Leicester confirm the signing of Norwich midfielder James Maddison for £22m on a 5 year deal.
Southampton were also in for him but lost out.

Would have loved him here, would have been perfect for the 10 role. But 22m is a lot of money! Brookes is also quality and would cost a fair bit less.

Remember him?

Ajax have made contact with Southampton over the signing of Dusan Tadic.

Sky sources understand negotiations continue between the clubs and reportsin the Netherlands suggesting a £15m deal is imminent are premature.

However, a source has confirmed Tadic is likely to leave the Saints - and feels it's the right time to return to Dutch football after four years in England.

Saints Echo.

If this deal is done, it would take Saints’ spending on Celtic players to around £42.5m.

Armstrong’s primary position is central midfield, so he’ll come into the side to compete with the likes of Oriol Romeu, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Steven Davis and Mario Lemina.

At Celtic he won four league titles, two Scottish Cups and two Scottish League Cups.

Armstrong played for Scotland at age group level and has six senior caps to his name.

Looks like Saints are close to another signing, but losing an important player as well, pain in the .... against us.

Southampton have agreed a fee with Basel for young winger Mohamed Elyounoussi, according to Sky sources.

Fee believed to be in the region of £16m.

The 23-year-old Norwegian international can operate as a forward or as a winger.

Dutch giants Ajax are close to agreeing an £18m deal for Southampton midfielder Dusan Tadic.

The Serbian international is presently in Russia for the World Cup and tonight plays in a winner-takes-all clash against Brazil for a place in the last 16.
