Brighton are edging closer to signing Reading defender Liam Moore, according to Sky sources.

Any deal had previously looked to be off last week despite Brighton’s second bid of £7million up front and £3million in add-ons.

Moore, 25, has three years left to run on his current deal at the Madejski Stadium.

Southampton have signed Mohamed Elyounoussi from Basel.

The fee is understood to be in the region of £16m and the 23-year-old, who has 16 caps for Norway, can operate as a forward or as a winger.

Brighton & Hove Albion have signed RB Leipzig defender Bernardo Fernandes da Silva Junior for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old Brazilian full-back, known simply as Bernardo, becomes the club’s fourth first team signing of thesummer and joins on a four-year deal.

Albion manager Chris Hughton said: “We’re delighted to welcome Bernardo to the club. He is a strong, committed defender who can play on the left or right, and so his versatility gives us good options at the back.

“For a young player he already has good experience, having played in the Bundesliga, the Champions League and the Europa League.
“He is a good character and speaks numerous languages, and I’m sure he will fit in well with the rest of the squad.”

how come brighton aren’t finding it difficult to sign players because there’s a world cup going on?
 
Given how well Gomes always performs whenever we see him, I'm surprised by this. Doubt Foster goes there to sit on the bench.


Gomes has said that he expects to leave Watford this summer.
