Newcastle United have rejected a bid of £20m, rising to £25m, from West Ham for their captain and centre back Jamaal Lascelles.

One source at St James’ Park has told SSN this morning that the player is not for sale.

The 24-year old reported back for pre-season training at Newcastle on Friday, with Everton also understood to be interested.

Brighton are close to signing Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Percy Tau, according to Sky sources

Sundowns released statement on Monday giving clearance for deal to be finalised.

Tau is now free to take a medical and discuss personal terms, and the South African player of the year will require a work permit.

Fulham seem to be serious bidders for players since coming up from the Championship.

Sky sources understand Fulham and Nice are in advanced talks to finalise a double deal for midfielder Jean Michael Seri and defender Maxime Le Marchand.

One source has told us the combined deal could be worth in excess of £30m.

Both players are on standby to take medicals once the clubs have completed negotiations.

Chelsea had been favourites to sign Seri but with Napoli midfielder Jorginho seemingly on his way to Stamford Bridge, Fulham have taken advantage.

Southampton have completed the signing of centre-back Jannik Vestergaard from Borussia Monchengladbach on a four-year deal.

The defender will cost Southampton £18m, according to Sky sources, after he completed a medical on Thursday.

West Ham were interested in Vestergaard, who was part of Denmark's squad for the World Cup.

West Ham doing what they do best. I know they won't go down or anything, but I'd be a little concerned about their long term future if I was a fan. Living on the edge a bit.

Brighton at it again spending money.

A £17.5m deal for Lille's Yves Bissouma to Brighton is expected to be announced very shortly, according to French publication L'Equipe.

The 21-year-old midfielder has reportedly agreed personal terms with the south coast side, after Lyon opted to not to pursue an initial enquiry.

Bissouma has previously been linked with Tottenham and Everton.

The way it's panning out ... O'ill be happy if we sign Devlin from Poole Town....Sorry Devvers, your happy where you are but wouldn't you like a crack at it - the PL.......Taxi for Steve Boy!

Good penalty taker!

At £13m that's an excellent signing for Liverpool. They lack the squad depth to challenge for everything and players like Shaqiri start to resolve that.

Crystal Palace have joined Bournemouth with interest in Brentford forward Ollie Watkins, according toSky sources.

The Bees do not want to sell the youngster this summer and it would take a huge offer for them to even consider a sale.

Brentford consider Watkins a key player along with centre-back Chris Mepham, who has already been a target for Bournemouth this summer.

Sky Sports News reported earlier in the window that Brentford had rejected a £10m bid for Mepham from the Cherries.

Spending getting serious now.

CLUB-RECORD FEE
Sky sources understand Felipe Anderson's fee is worth a West Ham club record price of €47m (£42m).

Talks will continue today as Burnley look to strengthen their midfield options with the signing of Swansea midfielder Sam Clucas.

Sean Dyche is a long-term admirers of the 27-year-old, who he tried to sign from Hull a year ago. Negotiations still have some way to go on a deal understood to be worth around £12m.

Burnley begin their Europa League campaign in nine days’ time.

While we are still waiting to hear of a second signing, Brighton have added another one to their squad.

Albion have completed the signing of midfielder Yves Bissouma from French top-flight outfit Lille OSC.

The 21-year-old arrives on a five-year-deal for an undisclosed fee.

He put pen to paper at the club’s training complex in Lancing today.
Albion boss Chris Hughton said: “We are delighted to have signed Yves and are pleased to welcome him to the club.

“He is someone with good technical ability on the ball, and has good experience at a relatively young age, after playing regularly in a competitive French league for the past two seasons.”
