...which is it 4 or 5 million????
Well if they have agreed 4 million even better....which is it 4 or 5 million????
Don't think that was a difficult decisionTurned down Stoke to come to us

Difficult one for me. I said back before 2017 that Reading in no way should let go of Stacey. I said he had a lot more prospects than the likes of Michael Hector and such like who he grew up with. Reading do have a very good academy, the problem is they dont seem to have a middle man to bleed the players through which is why they havent been no where near the Premier League since the late Eamonn Dolan who was a lovely man passed away.
Stacey therefore was let go to Luton and has succeeded ever since. Could he have dispositioned Gunter in 2017/18, probably not after Gunters heroics at Euro 2016. In 2018/19, most definitely. A weaker player in Yiadom definitely did so.
I'd say he is worth a gamble but not an extortionate gamble. I've always rated him, as have the family up there. I thought they were stupid to let him go. Are we stupid to buy him for 5 million, probably not. For 10 million plus, possibly if he doesnt grow.
Set a cap of 5 million and hopefully I'm right. If he joins and does keep progressing, great. I'm fearful that paying any more and expecting a diamond may be too much out of someone who has succeeded in Leagues One and Two but nothing above
Can't wait for 'Stacey's Mom' to sound great at the early away games but utterly fail to catch on at home and die a death because most of our home support haven't a clue what it is.
What went wrong for your club?
It seem to be doing well under Madejski.
When this article was written our club were in League 1 and your team were on their way to the Premier League.
Just shows how fortunes change in football, so appreciate the good times while you have them. Just look what happened to Pompey.

He only ever said that we were interested in Dan James though, never that he had agreed to sign. There is quite a big distinction there. To be fair, he was wrong about Dan James like me.
And another thing..
£2.5M bid rejected...next bid £4M?
Top negotiating that.

If they said they want £7m then it is good negotiating I guess... We'll never know the ins and outs. Perhaps it's £2.5m with £1.5m addons. The news outlets always just report the potential final figure like they did with Brad Smith at £5-6m even though it will never get to that amount.
