Callum Signs

It's ridiculous from the club, not an ounce of common sense or foresight in any of them. We have 5 players who are better than Callum for a start. We play in a run down Homebase building which has a temporary stand. Get these parasitical staff out the club I'm sick of it, they're all reactionaries who jump on hype trains, none of them have a clue about how to run a football club, all about spectacle and making the headlines for them but the best run clubs stay out of the headlines. Prime example - Athletic Club Bilbao - a proper club, with admirable traditions and history, a proper Brexit football club who have a great academy and have a rule that all their players have to be born within a certain radius of Basque Country. A club who have top facilities and stadium and are hard to do business with but know their limits and when to sell - £180m for Laporte & Kepa. I even admire Brentford's moneyball approach got themselves a new stadium without PL money. But our approach is incompetent reckless and not sustainable unless a radical change in thinking happens. "Those who ignore the past are doomed to repeat it"
Err, what exactly is a Brexit football club ??

If my company was profiting off the back of my work, you can be damn sure I'd want a cut of it. Why is £100k a week as the leading goal scorer for a company with revenues of £140m unreasonable? 3.7% of the revenue for context.
If we can't sign the 1 or 2 midfielders we probably need because we don't have the spare wages, then Callum isn't going to be scoring so many goals. We're already pushing our turnover:wages ratio as it is. No good having Wilson grafting away up top on 100k per week if we're still often reliant on the 30-40k per week Surman and Gosling for the supply line to him.

You’re a happy chap.
Glad I don’t sit near you.

Another striker on West Ham’s radar.

HAMMERS MAKE HIGUAIN OFFER

West Ham have made an offer to sign Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain on a season-long loan, according to Sky in Italy.

It is understood West Ham's offer would include an option to buy, but Juventus would prefer to sell outright and value the Argentine at around £36m.

The Hammers are in the market for a striker after seeing forwards Marko Arnautovic, Andy Carroll and Lucas Perez all leave the London Stadium over the summer.

Spot on RR! Well managed clubs with foresight and astute directors such as Huddersfield Town would never make the mistake of shelling out shedloads of dosh on effective international goalscorers merely to ensure continuation of their Premier League income stream!

The way the club handles finance....in a few years you might not be sitting near many others...or maybe sat at a Dorchester share venue! If Max gets Bored. ..the club gets Gored....I mean..if the clubs income is frittered, he sees it as incompetence of his staff ... his input as a done thing and sells out to more Yanks. He is done with it and we is done for...Coventry, Blackburn blah blah blah...you know the drill kimo sabe !

Ressie Red makes some sense no?

About as much as you.

What do you think is the right thing to do? Every club runs the risk of their owner getting bored.

Look guys....tell me im losing it if you like but....for Gods sake at least try to penetrate my battle-ship grade armour plated skull and for the love of Einstein...hack away and make me see some sense in paying part of Defoes biggy wages to Not Score for the mighty Glasqow Rangers ?
I mean ..wtf( wtf with a slice of lemon and ice please) wtf is IN IT for an aspiring Permanent Top Ten PL club that sits on the edge of the affluent Jurrasic coast down there between Mudeford and Poole.
Do we ....f#cking do we ? want to be permanently whupping Watford only to see them , bereft of star overpaid players, finishing above us because they handle their Tinpot Funds a bit better than We?

Agree with this statement. It appears to me anyway, that the club is being mismanaged at the moment but if it's followed up by major infrastructure developments most will be happy, though not all. As yet not much sign of that happening but who knows what the clubs got planned in the future, not us that’s for sure.

I think he is good value for money if you think goals win matches (my figs could well be not exact to the pound, Sources wikipedia, plantfootball and googles premier league table)

2016/17 - TV money, prize money and equal share = £123,800,000. We scored 55 prem goals, giving a avg figure of £2,251,000 per goal. Wilson scored 6 therefore he earned the club £13,505,454 mill.

2017/18 - £111,200,000 / 45 gls total / avg £2,471,000 / Wilson had 8 goals making £19,768,000

2018/19 - £105,000,000 / 56 gls total / avg £1,875,000 / Wilson scored 14 goals making £26,250,000

In three seasons he has contributed £59,523,454 mill out of a total of £340,000,000. Call it a 5th of inclome.

Problem with contracts is they reward past dues, but in the future so you hope they give a return. But even in the worst of the last three season, he would have given over a 100% return on these new wages (100k x 52). The last two seasons he would have been on around 3-3.5 mill (guessing) so he has been value for money imo.

The above is a very crude way of looking at it, and I know he is not 100% the reason for all those goals and others play a vital role, but strikers are rewarded and unfortunately to keep players you have to pay market rate, even if you think its inflated.

I think 100k a week is good value, maybe even a bit under what he could get. Its probably got bonuses as well, eg could work out at 100k pw if you score more than 10.

Just a thought.

How much do you think Wilson would miss Fraser if Fraser left?
He’d obviously miss him but realistically, that understanding they had was a one off. That’s not knocking either of them, history shows such a partnership is extremely rare.

I think both Wilson and Fraser can match or beat last seasons goal contributions but the assists will be spread around the team more. That’s a good thing BTW

Agree with majority that’s been said on here. I think from the outside, most fans of other clubs will say what a great bit of business this is, England striker, scores all these goals etc etc.

However the majority that watch us week in, week out, wouldn’t put Wilson in our top 3 most important players, especially now there’s a £20m back up sat on the bench.

My only problem now is other players demanding more and making it more difficult when signing players since Wilson at 100k a week will be the benchmark. As seen with Sanchez at United and all the problems their having agreeing new contracts.

I’m sure the figure isn’t entirely accurate and the sources that are usually spot on with us, haven’t actually given any figures, I just hope this doesn’t come back to bite us on the ****************
